Winking Bobo lures pet owners to College Park Pet Boutique

by Judi McLeod

December 1, 2004

They can press their black-button noses up against the windowpane and their tail-wagging tells their owners that they actually know it’s there, in the mall. Pebbles, Scout, Bijoux, Chiquita, and Kiko, some of the four-legged regulars, who cavort at the end of their leashes in College Park now have their very own store. It’s called Bobo Canada Pet Boutique, and it’s conveniently located in the lower level of College Park, right across from the Dominion Store’s floral department. Now that they now about it, Pebbles and Company want in.

All they want for Christmas are the tempting treats, cool duds and gifts they know that their owners can afford.

The best thing about the College Park pet boutique is that is named for one of their own, Bobo, the most adorable part Lhasa, part Maltese dog imaginable. The same Bobo, now two, who wagged his way forever into the hearts of owners Dave and Pauline Mak, is bound to wag his way into the hearts of mall passersby.

In his pictures at Bobo Canada Pet Boutique, and with pictures of Pomeranian friends Toffee and Coffee on the boutique website (www.bobocanada.com), this irresistible ball of white fur is winking and grinning at you.

Playful Bobo, who sometimes likes to pose as a rabbit, likes to wink in all of his pictures.

Weighing in at 18 pounds, Bobo, models some of the boutique’s coolest duds.

"Being the youngest in the family, Bobo is also the smallest in size and has the most character," say his owners.

Like all pet owners, Dave and Pauline wanted the very best on the market for their pooch, and that’s what’s available at the boutique they named after him.

"There’s no doubt about it, the love and passion of our little Bobo got us started in the pet boutique business and we’re happy to be here," explains Pauline.

The couple goes to any length in order to bring products to the boutique that pet owners will be bound to enjoy.

"Our goal is to find products of style and quality that both you and your furry ones can enjoy," says Dave.

Detail to quality is just one facet of Bobo Canada Pet Boutique. Price wise it’s the pet boutique for the working gal and working guy budget. Most items at the boutique are priced at $30 or less.

While other pet boutiques sell doggie beds that resemble the tents of sultans in look and price, customized dome beds at Bobo Canada Pet Boutique cost only $45.

With winter snows on the way, "Little Bobo Boots" are very much in demand.

Made by the same manufacturer of "Little Lilly", these high-fashioned boots are a must for your darling pooch.

Fashioned of soft vinyl uppers, rubber sole, neoprene tongue, sponge and polyester inner lining, Bobo boots are the talk of the town. Protecting pooch’s paws from salt and ice is a way of life in Toronto. Bobo boots make the grade by being both functional and fashionable. With both zipper and Velcro, their double closure system ensures that the boots stay on and are a good fit, even for dogs as tiny as miniature Yorkie, Pebbles.

Not only do Bobo boots come in nine individual sizes, they are available in eight colours.

Is there a furry friend on your Christmas list?

Camouflage leash and harness sets at Bobo Canada Pet Boutique are $25.

There are beds, carriers, leads, collars and a truly unique collection of toys to challenge canine imaginations.

Whether you’re shopping for a Fido a Freda or a Frank, the oversize picture of the winking, grinning Bobo at Bobo Boutique Canada will send you on your way with a with a lighter step and a big smile.
