Hillary Clinton, John Kerry, felons, votes

John, Hillary--Hunting the illusive felons

By John Burtis
Wednesday, May 31, 2006

Now that the US Senate has given away the farm, the Constitution, the national treasure, the social security trust fund, such as it was, law and order, which was already on the way out, and whatever respect they might have had in their outlandish pursuit of millions of illegal aliens, it's time for them to look elsewhere for others to woo.

and John Kerry and Hillary Clinton, as unlikely a duo in the entreating end of things that you'll ever see, have just the answer--felons, the fragile butterflies of the ballot box. and they're teaming up and introducing a stealthy bill to bring ballots to america's blackguards.

Yes, it's time to turn the senate's glassy blood shot gaze to the plight of our burgeoning--with numbers growing exponentially just like the benighted irregular migrants, and for similar reasons, that time tested litany of societal failures, ours instead of theirs--population of felons.

and John and Hill see millions more cheering Democratic voters surrounding their ponderous podium by the reflecting pool, ready to join their fence hopping brothers and sisters in a veritable roaring tsunami of support, ready to wash away every vestige of Republican control, cleansing the smallest man in the farthest flung office to the hallowed halls of the White House of capitalism and the rule of law.

The country will belong to them, the architects of a new social and political order, with the stroke of a few pens, a few million felons and, of course, the amnestying of 12 million hopping and skipping lamisters.

Good friends and matchless fellows like Ken Lay and Mr. Skillings will be able to vote again, if they're not pardoned first, in those early heady days of election triumph.

But for those of us not privileged yet to be included in the state or federal prison systems and therefore not yet being hustled by Mr. Kerry and Ms. Clinton, who are these folks they are pursuing? What type of fellows inhabit the marble halls and rest behind the carbon steel bars which serve to fetter them and limit their freedom?

There was a prison riot in Santa Fe, New Mexico, back in 1980, which left 33 inmates dead--killed by their fellow prisoners, a majority for revenge.

after taking virtual control of the prison, the felons, the folks that Mr. Kerry and Ms. Clinton would have us all stand in line with and chat about the weather, ransacked the files and sought out the snitches and those they thought had finked on them and set to work.

They beheaded them, used blow torches on their eyes, and pounded metal rods through the ears of their cell mates--real atrocities not unlike the fictional ones Mr. Kerry once decried.

While these activities may be viewed as excesses--extreme, maybe, a few million or so extreme--they can also be seen as a reason why these men are in prison to begin with --they are extremely violent people who should not be allowed access to polite society and should not be given the right to determine the political leadership of our nation.

and our prisons are filled with many similarly violent people. I have seen them and I am pleased that many of you have not.

But Hillary and John disagree. They believe that felons are pleasant, easy going folks, perhaps suffering from the onus of a troubled youth and ought to be allowed to vote, in any case.

and there is a great deal of popular propaganda and myth supporting their position.

Yet you must balance these broad generalities, buttressed by faulty statistics, often spouted by "popular" politicians with a certain axe to grind, with the liberal judges who everyday release, in a turnstile approach to justice, the most violent offenders with words of caution, slaps on the wrist or ridiculously puny sentences. Then read and watch these offenders who rape, murder or rob again. The TV news is full of them.

Yes, John Kerry, former first assistant district attorney for Middlesex County, Ma, and Hillary Clinton, erstwhile law and order supporter, are stealthily, beneath the covered eyes, sealed lips and deaf ears of the monkeys in the mainstream press, sending up a bill calling for the ballot box to be jammed to the breaking point by the votes spewing from convicted felons-- murderers, contract killers, drug kingpins, rape artists, child molesters, armed robbers, burglars and the rest.

It boggles my mind that such a bill could follow so closely on the heels of that other travesty of a supine betrayal, but such is the will of its promoters.

and we will watch and wait to see if the sorry solons of this sinking senate, who have shown themselves to be as shallow as a teaspoon when it comes to protecting america, her citizens and her Constitution, give this bill anything more than the short shrift it deserves.

But you never can tell.

It's a brave new world in the United States Senate.
