Political Correctness Gone Mad -- The Doggie affaire

By Dick Field

Tuesday, October 24, 2006

Did anyone ever hear of the Canadian Race Relations Foundation, except as puerile monitors of free speech? Several years ago a female commentator made an inadvertent remark, off-camera, but picked up by an open microphone. Sure enough, out came the barking dogs of the CRRF in their anti-racist fundamentalism, tearing away at the poor woman's character. If they could have burned her at the stake they would have done so.

You may remember the CRRF (if you think hard), created with the best of intentions, by the $25,000,000 dollars or so paid by the Federal government to Japanese Canadians as a part of an apology for their incarceration and loss of property during WW2.

Unfortunately, now staffed with anti-racist activists with nothing better to do but pounce at the slightest perceived politically incorrect remark; when they are not combating so-called "systemic" racism that is! Systemic simply means if you can't find overt racism, then tell everyone it's "everywhere." That way they get to keep their jobs.

But then, this is not to attack the CRRF, because it is really not much more than a very expensive old age home for retired anti-free speech, righteous barking dogs. My only advice to them is to beware of the ancient motto of "Hon y Soit qui Mal y Pense." This simply means that if you purposely think evil of others, you will eventually get burned by your own evil thoughts. They, the CRRF are merely a useful example of what has gone wrong in Canada's politically correct barking dog society.

Our Liberal Politicians and our leftist mass media should also pay close attention to that ancient motto because they are back playing the same old barking dog, politically correct game with their infamous, Peter MacKay & Belinda Stronach, 'Doggie affaire!'

Isn't it about time we tumbled to the real threat of false and manipulated public propaganda as spun by our media and conscienceless leftist politicians?

Good Lord, here we go again with their juvenile opportunistic diatribes against any Conservative politician's minor gaff. Out comes all the old left-wing slander to the effect that the Harper government is anti-feminist, divisive, western based, boorish, red neck, etc. Imagine the brassiness of this sad bunch of Liberals that not so long ago got caught, big time, with their hands in the public till.

along with the Liberal and NDP politicians, every major leftist newspaper, TV and even some bloggers of the same persuasion joined the pack of barking dogs, especially the anti-Harper CBC, CTV, the Toronto Star and their friendly clan of newspapers. It would be redundant to repeat their exaggerated and vituperative claims.

Their essential "outrage" was that Peter MacKay reportedly called Belinda Stronach a DOG! How dreadful! Can you imagine the horror of it all!

The fact of the matter is that he said no such thing. He didn't even mention the word Dog. When asked by the opposition Liberals, "Don't you care about your dog?" (The dog was photographed with Mr. MacKay at his home, after his then paramour, the treacherous femme fatale Belinda, dumped him with no warning and crossed the floor to join the Liberals) Mr. MacKay is said to have replied to the effect that, "You already have her," and motioned to the empty seat usually occupied by "poor" Belinda. None of which was recorded in Hansard.

True or not, given parliamentary question period's normal standard of behaviour, this rather innocuous, but clever and quick-witted response, was no more insulting than hundreds of similar remarks by MPs of all Parties in the Commons in the past. Remember when the Liberals called Debra Grey of the Reform Party, a side of bacon, or was it a slab of beef? Now that's really not nice!

Hour after news hour and day after day, Mr. MacKay's humorous response was blown out of all proportion by the dishonest barking dogs of the Liberal and NDP politicians and their leftist media friends. "Well," exclaimed the apparently outraged Craig Oliver of CTV, from the steps of the Parliament Buildings, while surrounded by "angry" extreme feminist members of the recently defunded National action Committee on the Status of Women (NaC); "I think that at the very least, Mr. MacKay must apologize to Ms. Stronach!" Some unbiased reporting! Some embedded reporter!

Ms Stronach later made a formal statement, pretending to be hurt, defamed, and insulted etc. while opportunistically implying that the Mr. MacKay was demonstrating a general Conservative anti-feminists mind set. It was surprising she didn't burst into showers of crocodile tears. In this respect, her acting left a lot to be desired.

Day after day interviews were also held with feminist activists on many TV stations, where barking like the very dogs they decried, they assaulted Peter MacKay's character and berated the Conservative Party's supposed anti-feminist stance. Of course, cutting funding to many of these political activist groups had no bearing on their antagonism to Mr. MacKay and his Party and you can be sure their interviewers made no effort to ask this pertinent question.

I hate to think what might have happened if Peter Mackay had really thought about his response. Imagine if he had used the appropriate term for a female dog. Think of the foo-forah that would have followed. It might have been cause to bring down the government itself, the way these barking dog dissimulators carry on.

all of the foregoing is to draw the reader's attention to the moral bankruptcy of the Liberal political establishment and the leftist mass media in Canada. It goes on and on, all across the land and it is terribly dangerous. It is dangerous because the media is the message. Most people do not have the time to think things through. Impressions do matter. Our future as Canadians can be so easily be manipulated by the mass media and ours is, for the most part, morally and ethically bankrupt.

Worse, soon once again we will witness the biggest band of dissimulators of the truth, the leftist politicians and the leftist mass media working in sympathetic harmony, ever ready to undermine and distort every conceivable principle of Canadian law and life. Watch them, as the coming Federal election draws near and they intensify their distorting parade of smears, defamation, exaggeration and mistruths.

The propaganda technique of the "Big Lie" is alive and well in Canada and the "Doggie affaire" is just the start.
