On Sept 5 1988, Jehab Chabaan, Ziad Chabaan and Samir Ourfali entered Germany on a flight from Damascus. Jehab and Ziad are brothers of Imad Chabaan, while Samir is a cousin.

Canada Free Press is claiming Luna, the Cockatoo, as official mascot for its fledgling new website www.cfpcrimewatch.com.

Crime Watch chronicles the antics of all the petty thieves, thugs, burglars, scam artists and murderers, none of whom--including Willie Lumpkin found by police and cut out of his crawl space by Buffalo police on the same day--would be smart enough to outwit Luna, the Cockatoo.

Determined to nab the killer and save the victim whose chilling cries of “Help me!” “Help me!” resonated out on the street, Trenton, New Jersey cops didn’t need bullets in bringing this perp under control. 

Neighbours hearing repeated cries for “Help” coming from a nearby house had reported the raucous cries to 911.

But lonesome Luna had only been trying to draw attention to the fact that she was home alone and didn’t much like it.  Calling attention to her lonely plight, she had begun squawking loudly, “Help me!” “Help me!” after her owners had to leave home for a doctor’s appointment.

It is the consensus among conservative new media pundits – and the Conservative mainstream for that matter – that the speech Governor Sarah Palin gave in accepting the Republican Party’s vice presidential nomination effectively put the Progressive-Left and the Democrat Party on notice. The double-standard hypocrisy demonstrated by the Leftist mainstream media on behalf of Barack Obama’s campaign will not stand. If the cowards of the Progressive-Left want a fight, they’ve got one...and it’s with someone who plays hockey. Oops!

We are all the sum of our experiences and much of the process by which we make judgments about others is the result of learning something about their lives and experiences. This is particularly true of the political campaigns for the presidency of the United States.

The cleaning crews hadn’t even started their work in St. Paul following the end of the Republican Convention, when the knee-jerk leftists at Amnesty International released their statement accusing police officers of using excessive force against the misfits and miscreants creating havoc outside of the convention center.

It was a fine sunny day for ride in the Tennessee countryside, as Barack Obama was out on the campaign trail engaged in his primary occupation as a political candidate.  Long gone were the days of serving his country as a social worker - uh… “Community Organizer,” an occupation crafted by Communist writer, Saul Alinsky.

I’m surprised it took this long.

In a delicious stroke of cosmic justice, it seems that the left, not the earth, is in meltdown stage. The sacred pillars of liberal orthodoxy are in the process of losing their underpinnings and it is not a pretty sight. 

This will not sit well with many.

Zoning is one thing; social engineering is quite another.  Zoning in cities and metropolitan areas, while not really necessary, can be justified if the zoning decisions are made by locally elected officials who can be held accountable by the local community.  Historically, zoning has not been a concern in rural areas where neighbors are not stumbling over each other.

In spite of all of our individual and collective faults, there is a “great good” that exists in a very large number of us.  That good is personified in a wide range of human traits and behavior, including private and public achievements, sacrifice, industry, creativity, empathy, generosity, spontaneous volunteerism and our can-do spirit.

If you had asked me two weeks ago which province was the birthplace of the Canadian oil industry, I probably would have said Alberta, back in 1947, but I would have been very wrong. The birthplace of the Canadian oil is actually in Ontario, and it occurred 150 years ago, in 1858. Canada, in fact, may have the best claim to being the first country in the world with the ability to supply crude oil to a substantial refining industry.

Lost amidst the many speeches delivered at the Democrat Convention was one by Sen. Harry Reid of Nevada. He is the Senate Majority Leader and, as such, controls the legislative agenda in that upper house of Congress. Harry Reid hates oil, but then, so does the Democrat Party. 

They get little credit for their efforts, but most resource extraction, manufacturing and power generation companies strive to be “socially responsible” – by emphasizing energy efficiency, resource conservation, pollution control and worker safety in producing the raw materials, consumer products and electricity that improve, safeguard and enrich our lives.
