Melanie Morgan, Move America Foward

THESE COLORS DON'T RUN

By Judi McLeod

Monday, February 19, 2007

Even as the anti-war movement is setting the stage for the mother of all protests next month, Melanie Morgan is turning it around to a nation-wide show of support for American troops.

The guiding light behind Move America Forward, Morgan takes her mission of standing up for America's courageous troops to heart.

When US troops were first deployed to Saddam Hussein's Iraq, enthusiasm ran high. Now that the Democrats control the House and congress, and now when even the most conservative voices are criticizing America's presence in Iraq, Melanie Morgan is about to prove them wrong: America loves its troops.

"Move America Forward is about to launch a major advertising campaign to rally support for our troops in Iraq." (www.melaniemorganrocks.com). "We have learned that anti-war protestors have been desecrating war memorials and now in some isolated instances publicly denouncing/insulting returning Iraqi war veterans."

"On Saturday, March 17th, Cindy Sheehan, Jane Fonda and Ramsey Clark will lead a giant anti-war protest in Washington, D.C.--disgracing the war memorials there as they march to the Pentagon. A massive anti-war crowd is expected--March 17th is after all the 4th anniversary of the commencement of Operation Freedom."

Emboldened now that their favourite party is running the show, the anti-war crowd which has always compared the Iraq war with Vietnam, is on a high they wouldn't have had without Nancy Pelosi and Jack Murtha.

Although mercifully such incidents have been isolated ones, returning Iraq veterans in uniform have been spit at.

But in her latest campaign, Melanie Morgan is calling all angels to her side for St. Paddy's Day.

Imagine being the parent of a soldier in Iraq at a time when the enemy celebrates the weakness of American politicians on public display!

"Congress disapproves of the decision of President George W. Bush's announcement on January 10, 2007, to deploy more than 20,000 additional United States combat troops to Iraq," is the latest from a Democrat-controlled congress.

"This resolution says in essence: We love and support our troops, but not their mission and we hope they win, but we won't help, and we think our soldiers serve honorably, except those running Soviet styled Gulags and razing villages in the middle of the night, raping and plundering little Iraqi children, and we trust our brave young soldiers to defend freedom, not just in Iraq and did we mention today that we hate George Bush and we are going to do all we can to make certain he can never claim victory in Iraq?" laments Canada Free Press American columnist J.B. Williams. "Moments after the historic House vote to do nothing, Al Jazeera led its Middle East propaganda headlines with "US House denounces Bush troop plan", which obviously would have been more accurately stated, "House Dumbo-crats denounce Bush War on Terror in Iraq---again! 17 Republicrats seek political cover too."

As Williams wrote, "Democrats have hitched their political wagon to the success of America's enemies. Could it be any clearer at this point?"

But even as Al Jazeera crows, Morgan is galvanizing a move to show how much troops matter to mainstream Americans.

This is how Move America Forward intends to trump all this negativity and disrespect towards our troops: "With a positive and patriotic national effort titled, 'THESE COLORS DON'T RUN.'"

Cindy and Jane will wave at the media from behind their fashionista sun glasses.

MAF will lead a national caravan of vehicles and supporters from California across the nation, all the way to Washington, D.C. Heading up the caravan will be real people, Gold Star parents who lost a child in the war on terrorism, Blue Star parents who have a son or daughter serving in the war effort, or veterans of Operation Iraqi Freedom and Operation Enduring Freedom.

American flags, which have long spelled freedom the world over, will be the centerpiece of the caravan.

At each stop along the way, the MAF caravan will stop to conduct a patriotic pro-troop rally where they were be collecting American flags from rally participants.

"We are putting out the call for children in schools to make homemade flags to be brought to these rallies. We are asking for those who are good at knitting or sewing to make homemade flags. We are asking families to bring a flag that has sentimental value or a patriotic story behind it to these rallies. Or simply buy a flag, bring it to the rally so we can add it to the collection of flags heading for the big Washington, D.C. event!

"At each rally we will collect the flags and pack them in the trucks in our caravan and then bring them to Washington, D.C. where we will surround these war memorials in a giant sea of red, white and blue--and where we will conduct our final and largest pro-troop rally in Washington, D.C.--on March 17, 2007--opposite the major anti-war protest.

"When the rally is completed we will send each flag donated to the effort to a unit serving in Iraq and Aghanistan with a placard explaining the story behind the national effort that brought this flag of support from the United States, overseas to our troops serving in the war on terrorism."

Meanwhile, desecrating war memorials is treasonous. Spitting on soldiers is for demons and snakes. Troops stand in harm's way for the protection of civilians. Patriots will always stand in support of their troops.

As expected, the mainstream media is following Sheehan, Fonda and Clark.
