Never Surrender, International terrorism

9/11 and Winston Churchill cannot be expunged from human memory

Bungled terrorist plots dot the world map in the prelude to the sixth anniversary of September 11, 201.

Authorities in Britain, Scotland, Denmark and Germany have aborted terrorists in action, leading all of them away in handcuffs.

Where foiled international terrorist attempts are concerned, it's almost like a collective dress rehearsal starring stooges.

Could it be that these bungled terrorist attempts are based on a strategy to take authorities off guard for the main event?

Only yesterday police smashed an al Qaeda terror cell cultivating a "profound hatred of US citizens" plotting to bomb civilian and military jets."

Winston Churchill"The force of the planned explosions would have been worse than the train bombings in Madrid and the Tube and bus attacks on London on 7 July, 2005, according to German security sources. Those attacks killed 191 and 52 people respectively." (Daily Mail, Britain, Sept. 6, 2007).

"Three men aged 22, 28 and 29 have been arrested in Germany days before they planned to strike, and bomb-making equipment and explosives have been seized."

"The arrests came a day after Danish police conducted raids and took eight young Muslims into custody whom they suspect of plotting a bomb attack and having links with al Qaeda. No direct link has yet been established between the two plots.

"Federal prosecutor Monika Harms said the three suspects had bought 700kg (1,500lbs) of hydrogen peroxide to make massive bombs. She said: "We have prevented what we believe would have been the worst terror attacks ever on German soil."

"Wolfgang Bosbach, an MP with Chancellor Angela Merkel's Christian Democrats, said the plat may have been timed to coincide with the anniversary of the 2001 atrocities in the U.S."

Weeks earlier it was foiled attacks in Britain and Scotland.

Reaction from the public at large is mixed and comments serve as a reminder that some people have forgotten about 9/11.

"While it is a blessing that this terror plot was discovered in time, the West in general should begin to realize how dangerous these fanatics are," Annette Shaw, of Hamilton, Scotland wrote in a comment section that followed the Daily Mail story.

"Well done to our German friends. Unfortunately we (k) now liberal socialist EU will have these people well protected in cozy prisons and incarcerated for five years maximum," wrote Purps, Chelmsford, Essex.

Maurice of Northumberland wrote: "Lucky again then! With the lack of political will in Europe as a whole and Britain in particular--luck is all we have!"

The comments also include those from people who accuse authorities of staging foiled terrorist attacks.

"Damned convenient timing if you ask me--does no one actually challenge whether this is some sort of set up by the authorities to justify their own existence and also (particularly) the billions being spent on security?"

"Ever thought this could be a decoy unit," asks Doug of Hong Kong.

"I don't believe a word of it! Schauble has had a hard time pushing his new laws. It seems quite convenient that a day or two before the next debate in parliament our highly efficient BND should arrest highly dangerous terrorists…A sensible question we should think about: who are really the bad guys?" wrote Barbara B. from Bonn Germany.

Within just six years of the horrific events of September 11, 2001 lies have already replaced some of the harsh realities in the tragic events of that day.

Television clips showing people jumping to their death from the World Trade Center holding hands are denied by some who say it never happened.

Latter day revisionists are trying to expunge the stirring words of Winston Churchill, who in another era, kept the British spirit alive and inspired the world.

"Never surrender."

"We shall not flag or fail. We shall go on to the end. We shall fight in France, we shall fight on the seas and oceans, we shall fight with growing confidence and growing strength in the air. We shall defend our island, whatever the cost may be. We shall fight on the beaches, we shall fight on the landing-grounds. We shall never surrender!" (House of Commons, 4 June 1940, following the evacuation of British and French armies from Dunkirk as the German tide swept through France."

Difficult to believe that the same House of Commons will now allow school curriculum to drop Churchill some 67 years after his words inspired the free world.

"Britain's World War II prime minister Winston Churchill has been cut from a list of key historical figures recommended for teaching in English secondary schools a government agency said." (ABC News, July 13, 2007). "A spokesman for the Qualifications and Curriculum Authority said the new curriculum, to be taught from September 2008, does not prescribe to teachers what they must include.

"But he added: "Teachers know that they need to mention these pivotal figures. They don't need to be instructed by law to mention them in every history class." "

The History Curriculum Association begged to differ stating it was "appalled" by the move, and adding that the new curriculum would "promote ignorance" and was pandering to a politically correct agenda.

"The Conservatives' schools spokesman Michael Gove added: "Winston Churchill is the towering figure of 20th century British history.

"His fight against fascism was Britain's finest hour. Our national story can't be told without Churchill at the centre."

Politically correct forces and their supporters in the mainstream media would make a historical footnote of people jumping to their deaths on 9/11, and even one of the world's last statesmen.

But the words of people everywhere keep the memory alive. The words, "We will never forget" are virtually indelible.
