By Jim Whelan, The Joan Randall Agency

There have been a bunch of full page ads inthe newspapers of the Northeast for a speechifyingRoad Show headlined by General Colin Powell, and featuring Zig Ziglar, Steve Forbes, Dr. RobertSchuller, Sugar Ray Leonard, and Brian Tracy, allgood and talented men.

The Boston Globe says it's "a fabulous day withthe most inspiring speakers in the world."

Time Magazine says "Hot Road Show delivers TheMotivational Dream Team."

(If you want to deal with the real Dream Team, callthe Joan Randall Agency NOW at 206 407 3124)

Personally, I have already seen Zig and Brian Tracylive at other events. I have caught the Rev on television, along with Steve Forbes, and General Powell.

I just watched a Special on Sugar Ray last week onESPN or HBO, can't remember which at the moment.I thought it was pretty damn good.

But a whole day of speechifying is more than I cantake. Pretty soon it all starts to sound the same, andone guy with a sign could accomplish the same thingstanding on a busy street corner.

GET MOTIVATED!

This whole idea of a "Get Motivated Road Show" hasme wondering what is going on in this country when wehave to pay $225 at the door to "Get Motivated!"

I guess most folks must be much lazier than I couldimagine if they have to pay that much dough, and bewilling to sit through eight hours of non stop motivation.

I don't get it myself.

I have never needed this kind of motivation in my life.

Now I have friends who never miss an opportunity tocall me Bonkers, or like Crazy Eddie, completely offthe charts.

What ever happened to Crazy Eddie anyway?

Anyway, here I am in the greatest country in the world, building a company scratch, going to work every day makingdeals all over the world, and here is this Dream Teamtrying to get me motivated.

I am motivated.

I don't need anybody to give me a primer on How ToDraft a Clear Concise Blueprint for Success, or HowTo Create a Winning Mindset.

Ditto for How To Remain Focused.

I must really be an oddball, just as my friends say.

Now I haven't heard that any of them are signing upfor this either, so maybe they are already motivated too, like I am. I can't see most of them sitting through hoursof this stuff either.

But God Bless those who need it, and pay the freight.

(The Joan Randall Agency gets your ad in front ofmotivated buyers in many different markets at aterrific rate. Ask about a package deal when you call206 407 3124 NOW)

I hope the speakers FIRE THEM UP! I hope they comeout of one of these arenas and start a new business orwrite a book, or design something no one has ever thoughtof or seen before. I hope they make millions of dollars, and have a good time spending some of their new fortune.

But opportunity is everywhere, all the time, not just whena Motivation Road Show comes to town. That bus leavesthe next morning. You have to motivate yourself the restof the time.

From the big saddle,
Jim Whelan

P.S. I always new I could sell advertising better than thefolks I worked for. Then one day I walked out of their officeand into mine. They were my motivation, and my dreamhas come true in many ways. It isn't over by a long shot, because my dream is to build a 1 Billion dollar agency. So call me now, and ask for Cowboy Jim, 206 407 3124,and be part of my dream.
