On a recent trip to NYC recently I noticedsomething that I hadn't picked up on previously. There are a lot fewer people puffin on the cancersticks.
That's right.
It used to be that everybody up here smoked,or at least it seemed that way. You couldn'tget away from all the cigarette smoke if youhad your own portable air tank.
(If you're in the market to get your messageout in front of qualified buyers, pick up the phoneand give The Joan Randall Agency a call rightNow at 206 407 3124.)
Now I'm not gonna tell you nobody up heresmokes, becuz they do. But not nearly asmany people as before. There used to be crowdsof people standing around building entrancesand exits, all sucking disease and danger intotheir bodies at an alarming rate.
But today you only see a few, or sometimes onlyone lone smoker. The bars and restaurants haveclean air, as well as most buildings
.Yesterday I wandered around Times Square, lookingat all the giant electronic billboards. Some of themare just massive, and my question is, do they reallydo anything for the customer?
Its funny, I have a friend who runs the ugliest ad going, and his add pulls very well. I'm sure he would laughat the computer generated monsters here in TimesSquare. His ad runs on the internet, and in a numberof magazines, and it brings him a steady flow of customersall the time.
This is really what you want, a steady flow of customersall the time. I wonder if these monster billboards reallyinfluence anybody to do anything. Do they really makepeople take out their credit card and order?
How do you know?
How do you measure their performance?
Or is it just cool to have one?
I betting that a small consistently placed ad bringsin more dough over the long haul. I'm betting thatthese gigantic ads are all talk and no show untilsomebody proves me wrong.
(That's why you should call the cowboys at The JoanRandall Agency. We're not fancy, we don't don't sell20 story ads on Times Square. But we do get you arock steady flow of customers all the time, who aren'tafraid to get out their credit card and pull the trigger.Call us NOW at 206 407 3124)
Right now I can smell some good food coming myway. In fact, it's right in front of me. It Moishe'sKosher Falafel Stand, on 46th Street betweenBroadway and 5th Avenue. There are only two thingsyou can get here, falafel, and french fries. Bothare DYN O MITE! If you're in the area, give him atry.
