Truth hurts. A lot in this case

Yes, media, the alt-left is as bad as the alt-right . . . and here's why you don't see it

In followup to my piece from earlier this morning, I want to focus very specifically on the one question - which was really an accusation - that reporters kept shouting at President Trump during his presser yesterday. Whenever Trump pointed out that the alt-left bore some responsibility for what happened in Charlottesville, reporters demanded to know: "Are you putting the alt-left on the same moral plane as the alt-right?" The president replied that he wasn't looking to put anyone on any moral plane. He was simply stating an obvious truth about what happened in Charlottesville.
Now before we cut to the chase, let's understand why this exchange kept taking place. To pretend that Antifa and BLM bore no responsibility for what happened would make you look like a total fool. Anyone who saw the footage knows the alt-left counterprotesters played a major role in escalating the situation to violence. So the media don't want to talk about that. Their objective in these Q&A sessions with Trump is to get Trump to say something that makes it sound like he sympathizes with white supremacists. So they've established a truth-that-cannot-be-denied, which is that no matter what anyone else does wrong, no one is as evil as the alt-right. And they're hoping they can get Trump to say something to the contrary so they can bash him for it. Trump did not say that, although they're trying to make you think he did. But that's OK. I'll say it. Yes, media. The alt-left is as bad as the alt-right. And if you want to quantify it, fine. The alt-right is 100 percent evil. The alt-left is 100 percent evil. Now, when you say that someone is 100 percent evil, it's hard for anyone to make the case that you "defended" them. But people will do it anyway. They will say that you had a moral obligation to declare the alt-right as a unique level of evil, so much so that if you even acknowledge anyone else has culpability, it's tantamount to endorsing the alt-right. That's absurd, of course, but that's the state of our discourse today. And it's the direct result of the alt-left's work, which is exactly why they're so evil.

This is hard for people to get their brains around because they've not been told the truth about what the alt-left is. They think the people who showed up to counterprotest in Charlottesville on Saturday were simply "against racism." That's not true.
  • The alt-left is against free speech.
  • The alt-left is against free markets.
  • The alt-left is against freedom of religion.
For all its talk about valuing differences, it's against differences. If you think differently than they do, and express those thoughts, you are the enemy and you need to be silenced. Or destroyed.
  • The alt-left is pressuring corporations not to do business in your state if your state protects religious freedom.
  • The alt-left wants to ban travel to your state if it doesn't fully embrace the agenda of "transgenderism."
  • The alt-left wants the James Damores of the world fired for questioning the left-wing echo-chamber orthodoxy that's being imposed on corporate America.
  • The alt-left wants you fired from your job if you publicly declare your belief in what the Bible says about marriage, or if you acknowledge the obvious fact that almost all major terroism is perpetrated by radical Islamists.
  • The alt-left wants to force you to join a union whether you want to or not.
  • The alt-left wants to force you to attend "diversity training" so you can be told you're a latent racist.
  • The alt-left wants to force you to pay for other people's birth control pills, even if you have a moral objection.
  • The alt-left wants to force you to attend a gay "wedding" and serve as the official photographer, even if this goes against every moral belief you hold dear. And they want to fine you hundreds of thousands of dollars and take away your business if you won't.
  • The alt-left wants to accuse police officers of racism when, like Darren Wilson, they were not racists and didn't even do anything wrong.
  • The alt-left is willing to destroy both public and private property rather than allow a prominent conservative to give a speech.
  • The alt-left is the Southern Poverty Law Center, labeling Christian organizations as "hate groups" when they are nothing of the sort.

The alt-left's behavior, as demonstrated above, is the definition of facism

And if you question any of this, the alt-left will unleash its adherents on Twitter to mock you, embarrass you and accuse you of bigotry, hate and whatever else is trendy in that given week to say about people out of favor. A popular objection to the alt-right is that they are fascists, and nothing is worse than fascism. OK. The alt-left's behavior, as demonstrated above, is the definition of facism. It is an attempt to root out all dissent from their orthodoxy, to marginalize those who disagree with their agenda, and to make it impossible for any such people to function normally in society. Its weapons are false accusations, public shaming and the threat of economic ruin. But there's an even more powerful weapon they wield, and when you understand this, you'll understand why those shouting reporters are so blind to what's really happening. The SPLC's slander against Christian groups is worthless if the media don't lap it up. But they do. The propaganda language of the alt-left is really only powerful if the media adopts and mainstreams it. And they do, as demonstrated by their description of Damore's memo as an "anti-diversity manifesto." It made Damore sound like a racist nut, when in fact he wrote a very thoughtful expression of ideas designed to promote outcomes any person of good will would favor. The media are the ones who present police events as racial incidents before anyone knows if race was a factor. "White police shoot unarmed black man." How many times have you seen headlines like that? Why are they telling you the race of the people involved? Is it important? Did it have anything to do with what happened? Doesn't matter. They want it to be the story, so it's the story.

Or witness crusades undertaken by cockroaches like USA Today sportswriter Bob Nightengale, to drum a backup catcher out of baseball because he criticized Black Lives Matter. Time and time again, the news media enforce the orthodoxy of the alt-left. The news media give voice to their accusations that people are racists, or bigots, or haters. The news media hide information unhelpful to the left and drone on endlessly about stories that appear unhelpful to the right. The news media treat the influence of Christianity on anything as a scandal, while uncritically accepting (and pushing) the narrative that "science" is rationality and faith is superstition. So why can't the news media see that the alt-left is the fascist, evil equivalent of the alt-right? Because they're part of it. In fact, they're central to it. They have become the propaganda arm of a fascist movement to enforce ideological orthodoxy on America - whether knowingly or unwittingly probably depends on the individual involved, but this is the prevailing culture of the media, and even the occasional conservative in their midst can't do much to slow it down. So yes. the alt-left and the alt-right are equally evil. But there is one difference between the two. Just about everyone recognizes how evil the alt-right is, and they have absolutely no traction in mainstream society. This is as it should be. But the alt-left is very cleverly dressed up as merely "anti-racism" or "anti-hate" when in fact that is not what they are at all. And the people you get your news from are making sure this facade endures. So stop freaking out about Donald Trump and recognize what's really going on in this country. He is not the cause of any of this. People who genuinely love their neighbors as Jesus Christ commands don't treat each other like this. I know there are Christians on the left and the right who are willing to heed this command. We need to do that now, more than ever, and we also need to speak truth about how the enemy is sowing discord amongst us.
