U.N. says government must control land use

By Henry Lamb

Monday, June 25, 2007

An official delegation from the U.S. Government actually signed a U.N. document that says:

"Private land ownership is a principal instrument of accumulation and concentration of wealth and therefore contributes to social injustice.... Public control of land use is therefore indispensable...."

Our Disappearing Farmers, Dollars, and Future

By Alan Caruba

Monday, December 4, 2006

Like the water in the well that goes dry, you don't miss it until it's gone and then it is just too late. In a society where our supermarkets overflow with food of every description, the notion that America is forcing its already small population of farmers, ranchers, and dairymen to quit must seem odd.

The knead to close rural Canada

By Randy Hillier, President, Ontario Landowners Association

Friday, November 10, 2006

Open Letter to Chuck Strahl:

Dear Mr. Strahl:

The Ontario Landowners demand an end to the unending and relentless assault by the Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA) against small rural businesses. It is becoming increasingly clear and evident that the CFIA is being manipulated by Corporate Canada to eliminate competition and monopolize the food industry. The recent CFIA actions against and closure of; bakeries, egg graders, goose farmers, woodlot owners, and greenhouse operators testify to this attack. The latest assault against small bakeries cannot, and will not be tolerated. The Landowners and rural people will not comply with CFIA's increasing appetite for the cannibalism of rural Canada.

Pig massacre at Willis River

Henry Lamb

Monday, October 9, 2006

They were sound asleep. Danny and Cindi Henshaw were awakened by a banging on the door at 5:00 am, on September 12. It was the game warden. Danny was arrested for "operating a mammalian hunting enclosure without a permit," and hauled off to be booked.

Legislation proposed to prohibit mandatory animal ID

Henry Lamb

Monday, September 18, 2006

Another rebellion is brewing across the hinterland. The U.S. Department of Agriculture has targeted ranchers, farmers, horse owners, homesteaders, organic gardeners, and chicken-owning grandmas for participation in a new National Animal Identification System. The targets are unhappy, and are organizing to see that the USDA cannot force participation in this new high-tech USDA program.

SPP: Sovereignty & Prosperity Perversion

Henry Lamb

Monday, September 4, 2006

It may go down in history as the worst idea of the century: the Security & Prosperity Partnership. In reality, it is a partnership for the perversions of national sovereignty and prosperity.

The so-called Security and Prosperity Partnership is designed to essentially erase the U.S. borders between Mexico and Canada, and instead, build a security fence around all of North America. What a joke. The U.S. has demonstrated its inability to control its own borders. Why would anyone in their right mind think for a moment that by entering into a partnership with Mexico and Canada, the border around all three nations would become any more secure than they are now?

Myths, Facts -- Truth:
The Bush Administration's efforts to cover up the North American Union

by Tom DeWeese, American Policy Center

Saturday, September 16, 2006

"Conspiracy theories." "Fringe nuts." "Lies." "Myths." These are the words being used by officials of the Bush Administration and others to brand those who have reported on the activities of the Security and Prosperity Partnership of North America (SPP), currently operating out of the U.S. Department of Commerce. Opponents have charged the SPP will result in the establishment of a North American Union, much on the same lines as the European Union.

Sabotaging U.S. Sovereignty

By Alan Caruba

Monday, August 21, 2006

The problem with the Bush administration is that not enough of its officials have read the U.S. Constitution. Take, for example, Section 2 of Article 2. When dealing with foreign nations, it says that the President "shall have the power, by and with the advice and consent of the Senate, to make treaties, provided two thirds of the Senators present concur…."

The evolution of homeowner associations

By Shu Bartholomew

Monday, August 21, 2006

A conservative estimate has it that one in six Americans, or over 57 million people live in some 270,000 mandatory membership common ownership developments across the country. These include condominiums, cooperatives, townhouses and single-family homes that are all part of a homeowners’ association. Those numbers keep growing.

Grandma is an outlaw

Henry Lamb

Sunday, August 20, 2006

She didn't kill anyone. She didn't rob a bank. In fact, she didn't commit any illegal act. It's what she didn't do that made her an outlaw. We'll call her "Sally" - so the jack-boots can't track her down.

Can You Trust the USDA Organic Label?

By Dennis T. and Alex A. Avery, Hudson Institute

Wednesday, August 9, 2006

Consumers across the country are paying higher prices for fruits, vegetables, milk and bread that carry the USDA Organic label. What does the label mean?

Apparently, not much. There’s almost no testing of organic produce for pesticide residues, though all farmers use pesticides of some sort.

Super-Corridor to oblivion

Henry Lamb

Monday, July 31, 2006

There is growing concern about the proposed "Super-Corridor" from the Southern tip of Mexico to Canada. The project, underway for more than a decade, is just now being introduced to the public. And the public doesn’t like what they are hearing.

Fathers Day Challenge

By Randy Hillier, President, Ontario Landowners Association
Saturday, June 10, 2006 It is evident from the recent actions in Windsor that the assurances by the Minister of Health are meaningless and rings hollow in the face of fact and reality.

Ontario residents concerned with enforcement actions of the Ontario SPCA invite you to attend a PROTEST against Abuse of Powers held by the OSPCA

By Randy Hillier, President, Ontario Landowners Association
Friday, June 9, 2006 Media: Imagine cutting the legs off your horse to provide your proof of innocence? Imagine watching your rare breed boar shot 17 times because it limps. Imagine having to go to court to have your seized pet returned to you? Should a non-government charity have investigative and peace officer powers? Why did 29 OSPCA Directors recently resign? Did the CEO quit or was she fired? Is the June 10th OSPCA Annual General Meeting legal?

By Randy Hillier, President, Ontario Landowners Association

The Rebellion Against Injustice Decree

By Randy Hillier, President, Ontario Landowners Association

Bill 43 "The Clean water Act" governs all Ontario lands where water enters or exits from the ground including; septic systems, wells, springs, wetlands, ditches, creeks, rivers and lakes.  If you have any of these on your property you can be deemed a threat and summarily punished without judge or jury. This act reigns supreme in Ontario and dictates over all other acts such as the planning, act, nutrient management, aggregate resources, greenbelt, safe drinking water, etc.

Ontario Landowners Association and Tobacco

By Randy Hillier, President, Ontario Landowners Association
Wednesday, March 22, 2006

The continuing war against Tobacco farmers and smoking can no longer be tolerated by rural Ontario Landowners. Your governments escalating attack against personal freedoms, choice and our ability to earn a livelihood from legal crops is an affront to justice and democracy.

Backlash building against animal ID system
Henry Lamb
Monday, March 20, 2006

Reaction to the National Animal Identification System is shining a light on a growing problem that independent producers believe is threatening the entire livestock industry. Vertical marketing practices in the meat processing industry, combined with the industry’s access to, and influence on, the Department of Agriculture and Congress, has the small producer against the ropes. The NAIS may be the final blow that puts independent ranchers and small farmers down for the count.

Realigning the power of government
Henry Lamb
Monday, March 13, 2006

The United States of America is founded on the principles that "just government" power arises from "the consent of the governed;" that government is instituted to secure the "unalienable rights" to "life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness." Almost since its inception, government has tried to escape from the limitations of power imposed by the "consent of the governed."

The 'Specter' of condemnation hangs over all property
by Tom DeWeese, American Policy Center
Friday, March 10, 2006

It's unfortunate for property owners that the battle for the right to own and control their land has fallen on the shrugging shoulders of Senator Arlen Specter (R-PA). The Senator is Chairman of the powerful Senate Judiciary Committee, which will decide the fate of the Property Rights Protection Act, (S.1313). That's why the bill's future doesn't look promising.

Neither Congress, nor the legislatures of either affected state, reviewed, debated, or approved the designation.
