Gathering of Eagles

It was one of those life-defining moments standing in front of the Walter Reed Army Medical Center when Friday's Retreat was called for the traditional lowering the flag.
Standing with Melanie Morgan of Move America Forward (MAF) for this moving ceremony, ushered in by the haunting sound of Taps, remains etched on my heart.
Melanie, Gold Star Mom Debbie Lee, whose glorious son, Marc Allan Lee was the First Navy Seal killed in Iraq on August 2, 2006 and Diana Nagy, whose song Where Freedom Flies is a siren call for patriots everywhere, turned their gaze to the flag when the call came.

Leave it to the Moonbats to go off and shoot themselves in both feet even before ever arriving in Washington, D.C. for their self-touted "Mother of All Protests" on September 15th.
But that's precisely what the Moonbats in Hippies Incorporated did when they threatened to kill Move America Forward leader and popular radio show host Melanie Morgan.
"Eagles! Don't let these people interfere with Melanie and her Move America Forward Caravan!" wrote Kit Lange on the Gathering of Eagles homepage. "It has come to our attention that our good friends at Move America Forward are being targeted by the anti-American left. It is not enough that these ultra-liberal forces think it fine to disparage our men and women in uniform. They are now targeting our supporters as they make their way to stand with us in Washington, D.C., on Sept. 15."

This September differs from most others.
The leaves begin to turn, youngsters are back in school.
But as the national and international media momentarily abandon Paris Hilton to focus on General David Petraeus' report to Congress on September 15, two forces as different as the proverbial night and day, will descend upon Washington, D.C.

They are at it again...standing in the gap for our military. The Gathering of Eagles group will be in Washington D.C. September 10th through the 15th in a show of patriotic force to coincide with Gen. Patraeus' remarks to the Senate on the war in Iraq.

If you look up, you can see them: The eagles that perpetually soar over Washington, D.C.
Eagles took a permanent place in the skies over Washington on March 17, 2007—the day when pro-troop Americans finally turned the tide.
The Gathering of Eagles, whose members made a miracle in Washington on St. Patrick's Day, opened the floodgates and left them open for the Silent Majority, who soon took up their noble battle cry.
Standing down the anti-war crowd at the Wall, they pulled out the stopper from the bottle called American patriotism for once and for all.

How can you even think of pushing forward legislation to set a withdrawal date for US forces from Iraq?
Do you know how much you embolden the insurgency here in Iraq? YOU ARE JEOPARDIZING THE LIVES OF US SERVICEMEN AND WOMEN WITH YOUR ACTIONS.
You and your fellow Democrats are causing the Al Qaeda supported insurgency to use more catastrophic attacks against us and Iraqi forces. You will see more SVBIED's with chlorine gas, more VBIED's against civilians and security forces every time you and other Democrats open your mouths.

My friend Jackie Gordon, who exposes anti-war ANSWER for their lies on the Internet, wants to know about pictures posted on their website that appear to be doctored.
As we all know by now, the ragtag, loose knit and lovable vets called The Gathering of Eagles changed history in Washington D.C. on March 17. Traveling in great numbers from far distances, they outnumbered ANSWER three to one--but a fawning mainstream media failed to report the facts, as usual taking the side of ANSWER.
Well, Jackie it is not the "doctored" that so much matters to me but the "duped".

The fierce determination of the eagle shown through in our nation's capitol. They came from near and far, some as far away as Canada to answer the calling to defend our sacred memorials on March 17, 2007 from anti-war protesters who have been known to get out of control in recent marches.
Ordinary Americans supporting the troops, and proud Vets from past and present wars, met up in Washington D.C. under the banner ofthe Gathering of Eagles.

Members of the left leaning mainstream media should collectively hang their heads in shame.
A soldier has been burned in effigy at an anti-war protest in Portland.
It likely never would have happened without what Rush Limbaugh coined, the "drive-by" media.
In treasonous times, the desecration of G.I. Joe was never far away from reality. It began to gather momentum with a media that lionized the anti-war movement's every protest and ended with a fairytale media deliberately suppressing the pro-troop side when the moment of truth landed with Eagles—in front of their very eyes.
On Saturday, you just knew the anti-war types were going to go into foot-stomping tirades and burn a soldier in effigy. It's not every day that a 30,000-strong ragtag group called Gathering of Eagles put the lie to the anti-war movement. That's the day the cut-n-run set were shown up to be as about as effective as dead men (and women) walking.

The Democrat Party is in thrall, we're told, of the mighty power of the Moonbat Left, with its millions of passionate adherents all ruthlessly organized via MoveOn.org to bring doom to any politician who dares oppose them.

Gathering of Eagles

My hearts desire and prayer to God is that this breath of fresh air continues to blow throughout our nation and calls us back to a free, constitutional Republic as it scatters the socialist and communist who would destroy it. I do not recall ever being any more grateful and proud to stand with a gathering of people in my life than in Washington DC on March 17, 2007. The hook line of my report to the Eagles is, "Stand Fast with joy in your heart for the opportunity to serve your country once again."
I just got off the phone with Larry Bailey, one of the prime organizers behind the successful turnout of the Gathering Of Eagles in Washington, D.C. last Saturday. Below are some of the questions I asked, to share with you. As you'll see, Larry Bailey is both modest and determined, as are most veterans. There's wide diversity among veterans on many issues, but there's an irreducible core belief among the overwhelming majority against Cut-and-Run. It's just not in our makeup.
During the 2004 campaign, none of the polling organizations surveyed veterans or Vietnam veterans. Wonder why? They didn't want to hear the answer. Nonetheless, we made ourselves heard. We, without doubt, won the election. We will again. The MSM largely ignored or treated the GOE as an aside last Saturday. Nonetheless, we will be heard. We're in every congressional district, we're motivated, we're speaking out, and will be involved with 2008, opposed to Cut-and-Run.
We're slow to mobilize, but potent when we do, as the Vietnam Veterans Revolt of 2004 demonstrated. There's much brewing among veterans to build on our efforts and connections forged during 2004 and with the Gathering Of Eagles, which will be forthcoming. For now, go to the Gathering Of Eagles website, and register to receive email updates.

Mission Accomplished, Goals and Objectives satisfied..........that's the result of Americans gathering in Washington, D.C. on March 17, 2007 to proclaim pride in America, support and love for our warriors in harms way, and protection of the hallowed ground of our fallen guardians of freedom.
Emails, pictures, proclamations, high-five's, a renewed spirit and hope in America is flying across the Internet, blogs, and media from around the world......Eagles (Americans, Vets young and old, active duty warriors, Moms, Dads, sisters, brothers, college and high school students, cadets) landed in Washington, D.C. on St. Patrick's Day in massive numbers, announcing to the anti-war/anti-America hate spewing surrender crowd: get used to it, count on it, accept it, and live with.............EAGLES ARE YOUR FUTURE.

Yesterday, St. Patrick's Day 2007, a group of ordinary patriots, known nobly as The Gathering of Eagles, achieved something no one else ever could.
Ragtag by nature, Gathering of Eagles' membership includes the wounded, both walking and in wheelchairs, the gratefully and proudly ageing and the living-with-the-memory-of-lost- loved ones, brokenhearted. Some lie awake nights worrying about loved ones still in harm's way, but the one human emotion missing from Gathering of Eagle members is disillusion. All because if there was any chance the touted anti-war protesters were going to desecrate war memorials, then The Gathering of Eagles members were going to be there--no matter from how far away they had to come, no matter in what shape March 17 was to find them in.

It's been 40 years since anti-war and anti-military protestors trampled upon the hearts and spirits of America's troops who served in Vietnam. The anti-war movement staged a massive march to the Pentagon on March 17, 1967 to decry the fight against communism and demand the end of the Vietnam War.
Now with that anniversary approaching, the anti-war movement is determined to revisit history by marching to the Pentagon once again, to demand American surrender in the war on terrorism.
For the defeat-retreat-surrender crowd there is also the added significance that this marks the 4th Anniversary of Operation Iraqi Freedom.
