Schakowsky is from Illinois where fraud, pay for play, and mobster politics trump American history
More Despicable and Shameful: Tea Parties or Government Gestapo Squads?
Just when you thought you had heard it all, another wacky Democrat from Illinois smashes through the incredulity barrier with yet another hysterical assault on the American Revolution, the U.S. Constitution, and the Bill of Rights.
This time, the offending leftist is Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.)
who finds it “despicable and shameful” that American citizens would actually stoop so low as to engage in peaceful protests against Obama tax policies, which she sees as a “significant, honorable moment of American history.”
Did I mention that Schakowsky hails from the great state of Illinois, which gave America Abraham Lincoln, Ronald Reagan, and, yes, Barack Obama?
Two out of three ain’t bad, say what?
As reported, in part, at the breifingroom.thehill.com:
“Rep. Jan Schakowsky (D-Ill.) blasted “tea party” protests yesterday, labeling the activities “despicable” and shameful.”
‘“The ‘tea parties’ being held today by groups of right-wing activists, and fueled by FOX News Channel, are an effort to mislead the public about the Obama economic plan that cuts taxes for 95 percent of Americans and creates 3.5 million jobs,” Schakowsky said in a statement.
“It’s despicable that right-wing Republicans would attempt to cheapen a significant, honorable moment of American history with a shameful political stunt,” she added. “Not a single American household or business will be taxed at a higher rate this year. Made to look like a grassroots uprising, this is an Obama bashing party promoted by corporate interests, as well as Republican lobbyists and politicians.”
Clearly, Ms. Schakowsky is fond of using histrionics and exaggerated hysteria when the facts are not on her side. She also seems flippant when it comes to American history.
Under normal circumstances, one would expect a member of Congress to understand and respect the fact that the 2009 Tea Parties were symbolic reenactments of the Boston Tea Party in 1773, which hastened the American Revolution back in the days.
As was the case in 1773, government tax policies are unfair, destructive, and worthy of protest.
However, remember that Schakowsky is from Illinois where fraud, pay for play, and mobster politics trump American history.
Those “Despicable and Shameful” Tea Parties prove that the First Amendment and the right of “We the People” to assemble peacefully, and to dissent, are still intact, at least for the moment.
It may just for the moment, indeed, if the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) is able to profile military veterans and those opposed to the invasion of America by illegal aliens as “right wing extremists.”
Really looking for “Despicable and Shameful” behavior, Representative Schakowsky?
If so, forego your misguided angst over American citizens exercising their First Amendment rights, and focus instead on the Gestapo mindset of Janet Napolitano and other left-wing extremists in the Obama administration..
