House Speaker Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday that the United Nations Plaza Federal Building has received $121 million of American Recovery and Reinvestment Act funding to modernize and renovate the structure, which will be used as a General Services Administration regional headquarters. Pelosi called the decision to restore the building “good news for San Francisco, for the Civic Center area and for our city’s economy.”
