AARP: Lusting and fawning for all things liberal and socialistic

As AARP’s Membership Declines Its Profits Soar on Obama-Care Insurance

Friend Peri McMillan, well-known frequent blogger on the Internet forwards this message from Andrew C Wallace, NewswithViews.com with the intriguing title, “An AARP card is proof of stupidity”. I tend to agree wholeheartedly with the gentleman, and thank Peri for forwarding the message to me.

As most of my readers are aware, I have not been a fan of AARP for several years owing to the fact that in addition to that organization’s lust and fawning for all things liberal and socialistic, they had the brass to announce in a 2006 issue of their monthly propaganda magazine, “Modern Maturity”, that they were going to give Harry Belafonte a Citizen of the Year award. This, after the un-American conduct and Belafonte becoming chummy with Hugo Chavez the Venezuelan dictator as both cursed the United States and President Bush. Now being leftist socialists themselves, the managing level of AARP was just being honest as to their anti-American intentions and thought that awarding a Communist leaning blowhard like Belafonte this AARP award, paid for from the members’ dues, was a good thing. Well I for one, did not think so, and the many thousands of others who terminated their membership in that corrupt organization after I announced mine, was strong testimony to their position as well. For many years AARP has used members’ dues money to invest in programs designed to make the organization more financially stable; but none of that money ever made its way back into the pockets of the members in the form of significant discounts or rollbacks on any of the products and/or services that they provided to their members. Indeed, the only ones who profited from all the excessive amounts of cash flowing into the organization were the high up leadership people who carried home huge salary increases. And all that was AFTER the huge donations that were made to liberal Democrat politicians for their campaign chests. Now, along comes Mr. Andrew C. Wallace who states emphatically: “Anyone who does business with AARP is just plain stupid…” and proceeds to prove it. He states further that “AARP was given $18 million dollars in federal stimulus money” and quotes American Spectator as saying that “$6.5 million of grants for job program already spent – but no jobs created yet.” Of course, the slobbering love affair between AARP and Obama is not exactly a secret with bloggers and commentators alike telling of the strong support AARP has given Obama for his health care plans even while a great majority of their members oppose them. And if my email box is correct, I get notices almost daily from former AARP members advising me of their departure from that mercenary group. Or as Mr. Wallace also puts it, “AARP is also in a position to benefit financially if the health care legislation passes, because seniors losing benefits as a result of cuts to Medicare Advantage will be forced to buy Medigap policies, which is the main source of AARP revenue.” And I have heard from different sources that there is a half-trillion dollar cut in Medicare funds contained within the fine print in the bill, which will devastate senior citizens who Obama is intent on rushing to an early grave to cut back more for the program. Imagine; starting an non-profit organization with the sole purpose of aiding and helping senior citizens who need guidance and assistance getting along in the world after they have lost family members who had helped them in the past, and then after getting a lot of their money, turning into a corrupt, political money-making machine for every one but the ones who paid to get it started. Let’s hope that some MUCH higher authority takes them to task.
