Raising foreign money

Obama’s Cheat-a-Thon Midterm Funny Money

A little item in Michelle Malkin’s lead column today aroused my curiosity, not to mention my dander.

Barack Obama cheated in collecting money for his presidential campaign, taking money from Canada even when donor Tom Sanderson of Canada, made clear his $500 contribution came from a foreign source.  He included a note that said, “I am not an American citizen!”

“Obama’s campaign took the money anyway, even publishing Sanderson’s cautionary statement about his citizenship in its official finance report,” Malkin writes.

Obama has raised at least $2 million abroad, according to AP’s review of campaign financing records.  Canada is “abroad”.

This makes Jason Rosenbaum’s personal email to me as of yesterday all the more important.

Rosenbaum, DSCC Director of Online Communications, listed me as a supporter as of Oct. 8, 2008—and even accorded me as “Online Supporter Number 7041885”.

I would be as likely to support Obama’s campaign as I would Osama bin Laden’s!

DSCC’s online team was “reviewing supporter reports”  and explaining how “they must raise $63,717 in online grassroots donations by midnight tonight to fight a Tea Party takeover of the senate.  Only 22 days remain until Election Day.”

At first I laughed it off, knowing that Canada Free Press (CFP)  is on the DSCC list courtesy of Senator Barbara Boxer, who had written sarcastic letters to CFP columnist Climatologist Tim Ball.

After writing sarcastic columns back about Boxer,  stating that Tim Ball was not likely to support any of her campaigns, the letters from DSCC started pouring in to CFP.  Democrats share their mailing lists.

We filed them under “News from the Enemy Camp” and forwarded them on to the Tea Party Movement, believing that any moment the Democrats would realize the error of their ways and cut CFP from their mailing list.

The Democrats—including the president—never caught on and continue to copy CFP on all campaign fundraising strategy.

But perhaps much more important:  The DSCC will do anything to use the names of enemies to collect money illegally.

The Dems cheat their way through elections via ACORN and cheat their way at campaign financing online.

Meanwhile only Marxists whose ends justify the means could collect money illegally and then turn around to accuse the U.S. Chamber of Commerce of being a “threat to our democracy” for raising contributions out of country.
