In just weeks, Congress will be forced to make no-win decision.
Thanks to the $858 billion tax cut package President Obama signed into law a few weeks ago, America moved one large step closer to reaching the $14.3 trillion federal debt ceiling (raised from $12.4 trillion last February) which forces the new Congress to
increase the amount of money the government can borrow or default on our loans.
Unfortunately, Members of Congress on both sides of the aisle are afraid to stand up and call for the one solution to our nation's debt crisis:
freeze all spending and cut the fat out of the budget.
With the national debt at $14 trillion and counting, Congress' spending frenzy cannot continue.
It's time to force our elected officials to stop spending cold turkey, and we can start by making sure they do not raise the debt ceiling.
That's why I'm asking you to personally tell Congress not to increase the amount of money the government can borrow by signing your name to the "
Don't Raise the Debt Ceiling" petition. To date, we've collected over 75,000 signatures for this petition. But I know we can collect more. So I'm challenging conservative activists to collect an additional 50,000 signatures in the next week. Will you help me reach this goal?

Speaker Boehner has already vowed to begin cutting $100 billion out of the budgets of federal agencies as soon as the new Congress is seated, but it's not enough!
We must stay true to our constitutional conservative values and take away the tool Congress uses to spend more - the ability to raise the debt ceiling.
