What the hell was that last night?  I don’t mean the part about Team O’s first 2012 fully branded campaign rally, “Together We Thrive.”  I expect that sort of tackiness from our self obsessed and clueless president.  Nor am I surprised that the addled audience played along.  Give college kids enough beer and they’re yours for the taking.

The most alarming event of the evening came after Obama finally stopped talking and Charles Krauthammer began gushing about the greatness of Obama’s speech.
Worse, Brit Hume cosigned it, although he did point out that the entire affair was a bit “peculiar”.

The part the pundit class seems to love:

For the truth is that none of us can know exactly what triggered this vicious attack. None of us can know with any certainty what might have stopped those shots from being fired, or what thoughts lurked in the inner recesses of a violent man’s mind.

And the admonition:

Bad things happen, and we must guard against simple explanations in the aftermath.

Nonsense.  The explanation couldn’t be simpler or more clear.  The shooting was caused by a man with an untreated, though patently obvious mental illness.  It’s no more complex than that.

It’s beyond me why family members of the victims didn’t walk out in justifiable indignation.  While the commentator class continues to celebrate the greatness of Obama’s speech,  the entire galling mess is an excellent reminder of everything I told you in, Obamanutz:  A Cult Leader Takes the White House, about how we got stuck with this guy in the first place.
