Ibrahim Sarsur

An Arab Knesset member wants the end of Israel

If Meir Kahane's "Kach" or "Kahane Chai" are considered by the state of Israel as "far right", "terrorist", "a danger to the state" and are barred from Israel's parliament, the Knesset, then consider in his own words in Arabic Knesset member Ibrahim Sarsur's speech to fellow Arabs both inside and outside of Israel. Not enough people in the West know that Israel is a democratic and pluralistic society and thus has 11 members of its national parliament who are Arab-Israeli citizens and claim to represent the Arab-Israeli population like Sarsur, who is, in fact, a leader of the "United Arab List" or Ra'am Ta'al Party (Arab Party for Change) in the Knesset.

Sarsur as a political leader of the Knesset's Arab faction frequently protests the treatment of Arab-Israeli citizens by Israel's Jewish majority. He has stated in the past that "They [Israeli Jews] should be thinking about me not as a fifth column but as an integral part of the country who might contribute a lot for the building of this state and might contribute a certain bridge between Israeli Jews and the Arab and Muslim world." Sarsur also recently spoke to a group of 30 students from UC Irvine in California as part of a program funded by the State of California and Jewish Federation groups there to promote "dialog" and "understanding" to promote "peace" and to arrive at a just settlement of the Israeli-Palestinian conflict based on a two state solution. During this meeting that took place in Israel's Knesset building, Sarsur said,"Arab citizens of Israel are considered a sort of "Fifth Column", and a demographic danger by Israelis. Israelis subscribe to a fascist ideology. They are "purists" in wanting a Jewish only state and want no strangers (Arabs) in the country. We want to be part of the culture, demography and heritage of this country but they want Israel to feel like a European nation. Many Israelis subscribe to the concept of Exchanging the Population, i.e having the Israeli Arabs leave and join their brethren in Palestine or in other Arab countries. I want to tell them that we Belong to the Ground (he gestures forcefully towards the floor) and we will not go to the Palestinian State. We support the Palestinian state, in the same manner that the Jewish community in the USA supports Israel." Sarsur then goes on to tell the American students and the world in English about how the Palestinian Arabs are victims of the Israeli government, a government he claims he only wants to be a part of, but accuses Israel of "killing innocent people" that is "reminiscent of very dark times, including that of the Nazis." He speaks in favor above of a separate Palestinian state distinguishing himself nonetheless as an Israeli citizen. The American students come away with a sense of Arab victimhood by Israel's Jews they bring back to US campuses and media, wondering if peace should mean the end of a Jewish state. The Walid Shoebat Foundation has uncovered damning evidence in a video that what Ibrahim Sarsur says in English to a western audience is far different from what he says in Arabic to his Arab constituents. In fact, his words reveal someone who is treasonous to the same state of Israel that allows him a seat in the Knesset. In this video Sarsur is seen speaking in Arabic at the "Abdul Rahman's social club in Israel, an Arab political group. In a spirit and demeanor that mimics the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem, Haj Amin Al-Husseini, who in 1948 called to "drive the Jews into the sea", here Sarsur is seen enticing Israeli-Arabs with jihadist rhetoric. He openly praises Hezbollah for "defeating Israel" and awaits Hezbollah's planners and strategists (which he claims has a local presence inside Israel and the West Bank) to repeat their victory against his enemy, Israel, during the 2006 wartime fiasco in Southern Lebanon. Quoting Sarsur:
"There is a force in Southern Lebanon that proudly raised its head to challenge American and Israeli supremacy with a project that carries the seeds of dignity and is based on Islamic pillars and foundations and has a vision to manage the war with the enemy [Israel]. Its internal management is well designed to benefit the Umma [Islamic nation]. Then came the blow that ended in the humiliation through these fighters grinding the nose in the dirt of the number one power in the Middle East, that is Israel. This defeat caused an earthquake measured ten on the Richter scale and on the political scale in Israel. The aftershocks continue from this great earthquake of 2006 until today. There was none left [without humiliation] from the Defense Minister, Interior Minister and Prime Minister ... keep in mind, there is strength and strategic insight and presence locally and regionally for Hezbollah beginning in 2006 till today. They are thinking on how to return this fear to Israel and how to destroy Israel's deterrence which is the pillar of Israel's continuation and if this happens--this means—that the line will begin to point extremely downwards for Israel's deterrence".
In one instance in the video, Sarsur even calls for all Muslim nations globally to attack and annihilate Israel altogether:
"Muslims from Jakarta [Indonesia] to Tangier [Morocco], if they knew the importance of the Ka'ba, (The Islamic Icon in Mecca) they would not await a single moment to move to Al-Aqsa [Jerusalem] in order to liberate it. [The west] planted this foreign object [Israel] which does not fit in an eastern Islamic environment, planted it in its heart as to remain as a thorn in their side and a thorn in their throat in order to prevent their [Muslim] unity so as to stop this Islamic giant to take its [historic] position".
Not a fifth column? And Sarsur's vision for Israel is apocalyptic. In this same video he blatantly calls for an Islamic Caliphate to replace Israel and to be centered in Jerusalem:
"In Mecca sprouted the faith and in Jerusalem the Caliphate will sprout, in Jerusalem, in the land of Palestine and in the end of days it will be the center of the Caliphate and the land of resurrection and gathering".
Sarsur reneged on his oath as a Knesset member to defend Israel; for he doesn't even believe in Israel's right to exist. Who knows how far Israel will go in allowing Islamists to help run the country? Or even worse, accept "peace agreements" that will render it defenseless? Perhaps even Khalid Mesha'al, the head of Hamas, now based in Syria, a will qualify to join the Knesset? Try having such rhetoric come out of an American Islamic politician like Keith Ellison, the only Muslim congressman serving in the U.S, and see how fast he is thrown out of office. Astonishingly, we can see how in Israel a jihadist can even become a member of the Knesset as long as he says the right things in English to a western audience for worldwide consumption. And how long will college students and others in the West listen to one thing in English while another is really the truth in Arabic? Sarsur lectures to American students as part of the deceptive Olive Tree Initiative that claims to promote "dialog," but is meant to promote the Palestinian narrative. By the way, "sarsur" in Arabic means "cockroach," an insect that infects everything around it and hides in the dark. This Arab-Israeli member of the Knesset is aptly named. Walid Shoebat (Assumed name) was born in Bethlehem of Judea, Walid’s grandfather was the Muslim Mukhtar (chieftain) of Beit Sahour-Bethlehem (The Shepherd’s Fields) and a friend of Haj-Ameen Al-Husseni, the Grand Mufti of Jerusalem and notorious friend of Adolf Hitler. As a young man, he became a member of the PLO, participated in acts of terror and violence against Israel, and was later imprisoned in the Russian Compound. After entering the U.S, he worked as a counselor for the Arab Student Organization at Loop College in Chicago and continued his anti-Israel activities. In 1993, Walid studied the Tanach (Jewish Bible). Six months later, after intense study, Walid realized that everything he had been taught about Jews was a lie. Walid has written several online books including “Dear Muslim, Let Me Tell You Why I Believed” and “Israel, And The World’s Mock Trial”, where he exposes anti-Semitism and the hatred of Jews in both the Islamic Christian and secular worlds.
