If you weren't paying attention to the news yesterday you missed this headline from the New York Times, "U.S. Scrambling to Ease Shortage of Vital Medicine". It seems there are critical shortages of drugs to treat life-threatening illnesses.
"….population growth rates have been declining globally, largely as a result of expanded basic education and health care. That trend is projected to lead to a stable world population in the middle of the twenty-first century… The current decline in population growth rates must be further promoted through national and international policies that promote economic development, social development, environmental protection, and poverty eradication, particularly the further expansion of basic education, with full and equal access for girls and women, and health care, including reproductive health care, including both family planning and sexual health, consistent with the report of the International Conference on Population and Development."
DR. EZEKIAL EMANNUEL
Dr. Emanuel, the brother of former White House Chief of Staff, and all-around good guy, Rahm Emanuel, will serve on the Federal Coordinating Council for Comparative Effectiveness Research. Never heard of this council you say? It was approved and funded very stealthily in the "stimulus" bill known as the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009. He is a vociferous proponent of medical rationing for the elderly and disabled. Among the writings of this true Dr. Frankenstein are:
"Unlike allocations by sex or race, allocation by age is not invidious discrimination"
"This civic republican or deliberative democratic conception of the good provides both procedural and substantive insights for developing a just allocation of health care resources. Procedurally, it suggests the need for public forums to deliberate about which health services should be considered basic and should be socially guaranteed. Substantively, it suggests services that promote the continuation of the polity-those that ensure healthy future generations, ensure development of practical reasoning skills, and ensure full and active participation by citizens in public deliberations-are to be socially guaranteed as basic. Conversely, services provided to individuals who are irreversibly prevented from being or becoming participating citizens are not basic and should not be guaranteed"
OBAMACARE AND THE IPAB
The IPAB, or Independent Payment Advisory Board, was established by the Obamacare legislation. It's a 15-member panel of bureaucrats appointed by the Dark Lord to control Medicare costs. The term "advisory" is a misnomer. The recommendations of this panel have the force of law and was designed to take over the job Congress is tasked with doing; overseeing and controlling Medicare costs. Apart from the obvious rationing aspects that will emerge from this panel is the Constitutionality issue. The Goldwater Institute has filed a lawsuit against the board which argues that Congress cannot delegate its legislative responsibilities away to an unelected, executively appointed board. Of course it's not Constitutional, but has not this Congress been working overtime to delegate their authority to Lord Obama? The lines of the separation of powers doctrine have become so blurred as to make it meaningless. Obamacare instituted a series of barriers designed to make it extremely difficult to repeal this board.
CASS SUNSTEIN
Cass Sunstein was nominated by the Dark Lord as his "regulatory czar", otherwise known as the head of the Office of Information and Regulatory Affairs. No surprise he hails from the University of Chicago. Among his stellar accomplishments are the authoring of 35 books advocating, among other things, human euthanasia as a major component of health care reform legislation and "presumed consent" rather than "explicit consent" for organ donation to science. He also advocates for animal rights over human rights. He published a paper in 2003 titled "Lives, Life Years, and Willingness to Pay" in which he argues that human life varies in value. He further states government bureaucracy to rely on "the value of a statistical life year" which would "likely result in significantly lower health benefits calculations for elderly people, and significantly higher benefits calculations for children." A further quote from the paper reads "A program that saves young people produces more welfare than one that saves old people." Remember that "imaginary" death panel?
Sunstein was confirmed by the U.S. Senate with the help of six RINOS, Bennett, Collins, Hatch, Lugar, Snowe and Voinovich. Bennett was defeated by Mike Lee. Congratulations are in order to the Hobbits of Utah and they will have the opportunity in 2012 to retire Orrin Hatch. There is much speculation Jason Chaffetz will enter the primary for his seat. I'm not a resident of Utah, but call his office two to three times a week to encourage his run. I implore all the people of the Shire to do the same. Voinovich wisely decided to retire. Lugar and Snowe are both also up for re-election in 2012 and we look to the Hobbits of Indiana and Maine to retire two of the biggest RINOS in the Senate.
JOHN HOLDREN
John Holdren was appointed as the "Science Czar", also known as the Director of the Office of Science and Technology Policy. He oversees a 50 member directorate that advises the Dark Lord on scientific affairs including global warming, now known as climate change. One of Mr. Holdren's primary concerns is population control. He co-authored a textbook in 1977 titled "Ecoscience: Population Resources, Environment". A quote from the book states "To provide a high quality of life for all, there must be fewer people." The book also discusses possible government programs that could be used to lower birth rates such as forcing single women to abort their babies or put them up for adoption, implanting sterilizing capsules in people when they reach puberty, and spiking water reserves and staple foods with a chemical that would make people sterile.
I've never been big on conspiracy theories, but it is not beyond the realm of possibility for the evil creatures of Mordor to spike our water and food.
Mr. Holdren was confirmed by unanimous consent in the Senate with no debate. It boggles this little Hobbit's mind that there was obviously no reason to debate the dangers of this man helping to craft legislation. Are we not footing the bill for them to have staff to ostensibly research important issues? Oh wait, they're busy not answering the phones when we call from the Shire.
DONALD BERWICK
The Dark Lord bypassed Congress and installed Berwick as head of Medicare and Medicaid services through a recess appointment. Dr. Berwick also favors rationing and is a great admirer of Britains socialized health care system, going so far as to say "I'm in love with NHS".Perhaps the most infamous quote of the good doctor is "The decision is not whether or not we will ration care. The decision will be whether we ration care with our eyes open."
I'm sure all the senior Hobbits of the Shire are rejoicing that Dr. Berwick will keep his eyes open when rationing their care.
As for this Grandma Hobbit, I admit going to bed in tears many nights after spending the entire day fighting against the evils of Obamacare. It's hard to wrap your head around the fact that as your grow old and frail, the country you love with every fiber of your being can decide you no longer have a right to live.
KATHLEEN SEBELIUS
Secretary Sebelius, chief Uruk-Hai of DHHS, recently instituted new Obamacare regulations mandating that birth control and other women's health care issues must be covered by insurance companies. The march toward driving insurance companies out of business continues in earnest.
We've listened to all the lies regarding no taxpayer funding of abortions, yet our government in its benevolence still uses our money to subsidize Planned Parenthood. Planned Parenthood derives the majority of its income through performing abortions. Guess we Hobbits are just too stupid to realize we're not really paying for abortions. By the way, Planned Parenthood also dispenses birth control.
DRUG SHORTAGE
The evil that is Mordor has been following the rules as laid out by U.N. Agenda 21 for population control; therefore, the next logical step is to declare a shortage of life-threatening drugs and stockpile them. I can't think of a better way to weed out the "undesirables" than preventing them medications needed to keep them alive.
There you have it my fellow Hobbits; how the creatures of Mordor are taking away our freedom of choice as it pertains to our health care and putting us under the auspices of the U.N. and Agenda 21.
We must rally and let our voices be heard. We must throw the U.N. out of the Shire and withdraw the Shire from the U.N.
