With all our Federal government has done to the average American citizen with the incestuous support of private and public unions, wouldn’t it be more appropriate for us to be ‘celebrating’ Unemployment Day?
Labor Day – The shallowest of American holidays!

With summer coming to an unofficial close, Americans are taking advantage of a three-day weekend to celebrate Labor Day. As with other American holidays, many Americans have lost focus of the original intent of the holiday. Of all our national holidays, Labor Day may be the shallowest of holidays because of the hypocrisy celebrated over this weekend.
Weren’t the August employment numbers inspiring? How is the tectonic shift of fundamental transformation and ‘Hope and Change’ ‘working’ for us? Quite simply, it isn’t, but our tepid economy and woeful employment environment are a result of more than the elitist, anti-business bias by the current Bilderberger-backed regime.
Wasn’t the Labor Day national holiday established to recognize the contributions that union members have made to our nation’s overall prosperity and the sacrifices of those in organized labor who took on the unenlightened despots atop of many businesses who abused employees with their positions of power and wealth? There was a time when leaders in labor were needed to take on those who put personal power and profit above the well being of their employees, but with the current backdoor shenanigans and thuggish tactics of private and public unions, hasn’t ‘labor’ morphed itself into what it fought so valiantly and successfully against? Much like many of those who go into elective office with the best of intentions, haven’t those in private and public union leadership become modern-day King Georges in our lives, exchanging taxes without representation for the increasing cost of doing business in both the private and public sectors, without regard as to how their actions detrimentally impact others?
Has anyone in Labor’s leadership seriously addressed how their actions have forced many American companies to seek refuge for reasonable employment provisions beyond our nation’s borders? More importantly, has anyone in the rank-and-file of big labor begun to address the, at best, questionable leadership of big labor? Isn’t big labor’s leadership a microcosm of our Congressional leadership within both parties, focused upon building personal power and fortunes, in part, by protecting themselves and resisting the changes desperately needed to reverse the fortunes for the better of those they profess to represent? As Sarah Palin has eloquently inferred, an unholy alliance of crony capitalism is a bullying sledgehammer of elitists within big labor, both political parties, business, and the media. Is it any wonder that approximately half of the waivers from the ominous ObamaCare have been granted to unions? For our economy to rebound, this must stop, or we are sentenced to more of the same, big labor and inside-the-beltway insanity.
Where did the lion’s share of the vaunted stimulus money go, and where will the remaining $220 billion-plus be funneled between now and November 6, 2012? Isn’t this just a re-election slush fund that has been funneled towards private and public unions, especially in key swing states? When will RNC Chairman Reince Priebus, Speaker of the House Boehner or Senate Minority Leader McConnell call out President Obama and his cabal on this core election issue? Aren’t there Federal agencies and departments with union employees that should be abolished, or significantly revised and downsized? Isn’t the annual 8% increase of the baseline budget the devious tool of those in both political parties who are focused upon their re-elections, in lieu of making challenging decisions for the benefit of our blessed nation?
When you think about it, hasn’t the name, ‘Labor Day’ become a misnomer? With all our Federal government has done to the average American citizen with the incestuous support of private and public unions, wouldn’t it be more appropriate for us to be ‘celebrating’ Unemployment Day?
It is time that union members and the electorate begin to think for themselves, not just about themselves. Once big labor’s rank-and-file and the electorate realizes that we have the power to turn out those who rule instead of lead, we will have an opportunity to reverse our current misfortunes. Harry Reid was just re-elected, so we are stuck with his arrogant ineptitude for the rest of his term. Our individual and nation’s fortunes depend upon President Obama, Richard Trumka, Nancy Pelosi, John Boehner, Mitch McConnell, and all of the elitists in Big Labor and each political party being ushered into retirement if our nation is to have any chance of celebrating a true Labor Day in the near future.
