The Time of Unions has Come and Gone

Unions should be a thing of the past. They are no longer helpful. Back in the Triangle Fire days they were brought in for safety reasons. Now the government has all sorts of agencies to make the workplace safe. There would be no Triangle Fire today even if the unions were abolished.
Unions were not meant for bargaining for raises. They were meant to stop inhuman cruelty to workers. Now that’s the government’s job. The unions have turned into mobs for self-advancement. They are anti-capitalistic. They are socialistic and based on strong arming the creative to support the less talented drones. Raises were not meant for collective bargaining. That should come from the marketplace and raises should be dictated by the free market place. Unions should not collectively bully companies into giving raises that are not merited by the marketplace. If people continue to earn more than they are worth then they will be worth nothing. Short term generosity to current employees ends up in the long term bankruptcy of companies and a dearth of future jobs.

Remuneration is the job of the marketplace and free competition

Remuneration is the job of the marketplace and free competition. Union thugs are gangster tools not economic devices. Unions should be things of the past. Their mafia ties go way back. Jimmy Hoffa was either in bed with the mob or put to sleep by them. Unions have been bankrupting Greece, Portugal, Spain, Ireland, etc. They use muscle. When the unions twist free competition out of position, labor’s muscle cramps. Pensions and raises should be earned not forced. When power is used to reward ne’er-do-wells more than they deserve, then the productive capitalists who provide them their jobs are herded with the lowest common denominator. They can no longer protect the blue collar workers from themselves. Unions are bringing in war chests for presidents like Obama so they can buy back advantages from the government. Unions promote mob mentality. Now they have stepped up to dictating the presidency. They are also fomenting revolution through the OWS, blaming Wall Street for the President’s failures. Hoping they get their puppet, Obama, back in office so that they blackmail him into more goodies.

Unions own the OWS

Unions own the OWS. The fools at Zuccotti Park don’t even know that they’ve given up their freedom to the SEIU. The protestors are supporting unions even when they aren’t even members. SEIU has stolen OWS’s moniker -- “We are the 99%.” I wonder when the unions are going to start charging protestors dues to become auxiliary members. They are their patsies. The same way the minorities are flunkies of the Democratic Party. They buy them and then keep them where they want them. Unions are an offshoot of the socialist-communist movement. They are an extension of Obama’s class warfare. When students protested against Vietnam at least their lives were on the line. I could understand why it was difficult for Lyndon Johnson to calm things down. They were not spoiled brats turning down minimum wage jobs. They were young men facing death in the rice paddies overseas. But Obama chooses to inflame. His fiery rhetoric lights class warfare. On Wall Street restaurant workers are let go because protestors have stifled business. It’s not the first time unemployment has been bad. Why should our current day protestors get violent over it? Back in the seventies when I applied for jobs, I was unemployable despite my skills. I applied to college teaching jobs and was rejected by over a thousand colleges because there were no positions due to the end of the Vietnam War and draft dodgers dropping out of school. I had a Ph.D., numerous creative and scholarly publications and various honors, including Phi Beta Kappa. I doubt that many crybabies at Zuccotti Park have my credentials. What do they want? Nothing. The luxury of complaining and the option to turn down potential jobs. They waste months squatting in a park when they should be out job hunting. How could they not be ashamed of themselves? At least make an effort. In the early 90s, I lost a multimillion dollar business and went to jail with less crying than the protestors do about getting minimum wage jobs. If you can’t act like a man you can’t be a man. There should be a cosmic laugh at these mental toddlers at Zuccotti. The protestors are not stepping on mines like in Nam. There are no legless soldiers in the herd of complainers. They have no manners or respect for propriety—defecating in public, playing bongos through the night, raping each other, a murder here and there. Obama should be trying to damp down the flames of protest and revolution instead of trying to use them to get more votes for the next election. Unions have outlived their use. So has Obama. He should form a union of incompetence with Jimmy Carter. Nice men. Terrible administrators. They speak softly and carry limp sticks.
