Barack Challenges God in Heaven to Try & Stop his Mad Deeds

Obama Torching Bible Mimics Crazed Reign of Tamburlaine the Great

Don't be shocked that Barack has a literary precursor birthed during the turbulent Tudor age in all its manic creativity and grandeur. First modern playwright Christopher Marlowe, whose demons eventually overcame prodigious dramatic gifts, is a fitting author for the backdrop of the sordid tale of Barack Obama. Predating Shakespeare's feats, Marlowe's epic Tamburlaine the Great is the story of an unprincipled, megalomaniac, demented ruler whose psyche breaks as his demise is delivered. At the end of this superb play, King Tamburlaine throws down the Koran in an ill-fated and cursed symbol of his war against God. For immediately after this portentous act, and his plan to conquer the world, he is suddenly struck dead.
Obama utterly reverses Tamburlaine by tossing down the Bible, America's source book, trampling and tearing it asunder, before bowing down to pagan Muslim kings. At the same time, instead of seeking to conquer the world, Barack first embarked upon ruinous economic spending which then justified massive slashing of the American military. This essay examines the reigns of Barack versus Tamburlaine the Great.

I. Obama the 'Grate' & Islam

A recent event once again revealed the obsequious, hem-of-the-garment dedication Barack feels for all things Islamic. When several Korans were recently found burnt at the US Army's Bagram Base in Afghanistan, the Muslim world erupted in fury. Obama reacted with abject repentance, apologizing profusely, writing a letter to president Karzai, saying:
I wish to express my deep regret for the reported incident. I extend to you and the Afghan people my sincere apologies. The error was inadvertent; I assure you that we will take the appropriate steps to avoid any recurrence, to include holding accountable those responsible.

Presidential candidate Newt Gingrich found this response appalling, in light of the subsequent murder of NATO troops, claiming Obama caused these events to be:
Blown into a huge incident by various fanatics in Afghanistan. There seems to be nothing that radical Islamists can do to get Barack Obama's attention in a negative way, and he is consistently apologizing to people who do not deserve the apology of the president of the United States, period.
This reaction by Obama is just the latest exercise in US presidential bowing and scraping before Islam, the perversity of which is noted by Charles Krauthammer:
This is a world in which nobody asked the Islamic Conference, a grouping of the 56 Islamic countries, to issue an apology when Christians are attacked and churches are burned in Egypt or in Pakistan. And had we heard a word from any Islamic leader anywhere about the radical Muslims in Nigeria who are not only burning the churches, but burning women and children who are in the churches, when I hear that, I'll expect my president to start issuing apologies.
The immediate problem with Obama is he errs by turning his back on his own nation's beliefs while appeasing another religion which would utterly crush dissent if in power here. Further, he repeatedly apologizes to other groups who could never hold a light to America's record of world humanitarianism and bravery. Human Events has helpfully collated the Top Ten Obama Apologies:
  1. Apology: Europeans -- Speech in Strasbourg, France, April 3. "America has shown arrogance and been dismissive, even derisive."
  2. Apology: Muslims -- Interview with Al Arabiya, January 27. "My job to the Muslim world is to communicate that the Americans are not your enemy. We sometimes make mistakes. We have not been perfect."
  3. Apology: Summit of Americas -- Address to the Summit of the Americas, Port of Spain, Trinidad and Tobago, April 17. "America has been disengaged, and at times we sought to dictate our terms."
  4. Apology: G-20 Summit World Leaders: News conference in London, April 2. "I just think in a world that is as complex as it is, that it is very important for us to be able to forge partnerships as opposed to simply dictating solutions."
  5. Apology: War on Terror -- Speech in Washington, D.C., May 21. "all too often our government trimmed facts & evidence to fit ideological predispositions."
  6. Apology: For Guantanamo in France -- Speech in Strasbourg, France, April 3. "I closed Guantanamo to make very clear that we will not engage in certain interrogation practices."
  7. Apology: For USA at Turkish Parliament -- Speech to the Turkish Parliament, Ankara, Turkey, April 6. "Our country still struggles with the legacies of slavery and segregation, the past treatment of Native Americans."
  8. Apology: U.S. Policy in Americas: Editorial -- "Choosing a Better Future in the Americas," April 16. "Too often, the United States has not pursued and sustained engagement with our neighbors."
  9. Apology: Mistakes of CIA -- Remarks to CIA employees at Langley, Va., April 29. "Don't be discouraged that we have to acknowledge potentially we've made some mistakes."
  10. Apology: On Guantanamo -- Speech in Washington, D.C., May 21. "There is also no question that Guantanamo set back the moral authority that is America's strongest currency in the world."
But a larger problem must be addressed vis-a-vis Islam. In world history, it was definitively Christian culture giving rise to the concept of widespread, individual liberty, including freedom of religion, centuries ago. Meanwhile, non-Muslims are still abused and murdered in Islamic lands today, and at the very least lack any human rights, whatsoever. So the question is, If Obama is touting, placating, and appeasing Islam while disrespecting Christianity, How can this possibly help the West survive? This is a profound and disquieting question to be pondered long and deep. It also raises another question: Is Barack Obama some kind of strange, anti-Tamburlaine, come to force America to its knees in the face of Islam?

II. Tamburlaine the Great: Scourge of God

A. Christopher Marlowe

Christopher Marlowe, author of Tamburlaine the Great, Scourge of God, I & II, lived from 1564-1593. One of the most accomplished playwrights of his age, he established the free-form verse model for Shakespeare. He is also one of the darkest and most inscrutable figures in the history of theater. According to Charles Nicholl in The Reckoning, The Murder of Christopher Marlowe, he's also believed to have been a spy, religious subversive, and a homosexual. He spent time with a number of controversial, non-conformist and violent men, leading to his demise in a Deptford tavern, supposedly brawling over a bar tab. Marlowe's brief career produced a spectacular literary output, including Dido, Queen of Carthage; Tamburlaine I & II; The Jew of Malta; Dr Faustus; Edward II; and The Massacre at Paris. He also penned such famous poems as Passionate Shepherd to His Love; and Hero and Leander, and translations of Ovid. A bio of Marlowe is offered by one website:
Christopher Marlowe was born in 1564, the same year as Shakespeare. He attended Cambridge on a King's scholarship, with expectations for a church career. Graduating in 1584, Cambridge threatened to withhold his degree for poor attendance. But the Queen's Council claimed Marlowe was aiding them during absences, suggesting he spied for the Queen. Suspicions were also he'd converted to Catholicism. But Marlowe abandoned a Church career, and in 1587 became a London playwright. He was quick to anger, and quick to make enemies. In 1589 Marlowe spent two weeks in Newgate Gaol, charged with murder, though later acquitted. Although suspected of many crimes from heresy to homosexuality, Marlowe's government connections protected him. Right before death, fellow-playwright Thomas Kyd claimed him an atheist. Marlowe died a week later in a brawl after supper in Deptford, England.

B. Tamburlaine

The story of Tamburlaine is based on the historic tale of Asiatic conqueror Tamur the Lame. In Tamburlaine I, a humble Scythian shepherd becomes a roving brigand. Resisted, he assembles a small army to resist Persian royal forces. After winning the love of Zenocrates, the Egyptian King's daughter, he conquers neighboring states until becoming mighty. Tamburlaine then attacks Turkey, capturing the Turkish king Bajazeth and wife Zabina, who are held captive. Tamburlaine keeps them in a cage, even using Bajazeth as a footstool. Unsatisfied, he then conquers Africa, wedding Zenocrates after capturing her father. In Tamburlaine II, Tamburlaine trains his boys as warrior conquerors. One son, Calyphas, prefers his mother's side instead of warfare, infuriating Tamburlaine. Observing his coward son refusing battle, Tamburlaine murders him. Finally, while attacking an Islamic nation, he scornfully burns the Koran, claiming to be greater than God. Suddenly, Tamburlaine is struck down and dies, handing his throne to his remaining sons. Ambition unrequited, he departs life. Here, Tamburlaine sets alight the Koran:
TAMBURLAINE. Well said; let there be a fire presently. In vain, I see, men worship Mahomet. My sword hath sent millions of Turks to hell, Slew all his priests, his kinsmen, and his friends, And yet I live untouched by Mahomet. There is a God, full of revenging wrath, From whom the thunder and the lightning breaks, Whose scourge I am, and him will I obey. So, Casane; fling them in the fire. Now Mahomet, if thou have any power, Come down thyself and work a miracle. Thou art not worthy to be worshipped That suffers flames of fire to burn the writ Wherein the sum of thy religion rests. Why send'st thou not a furious whirlwind down To blow thy Alcoran up to thy throne, Where men report thou sitt'st by God himself? Or vengeance on the head of Tamburlaine That shakes his sword against thy majesty And spurns the abstracts of thy foolish laws? Well, soldiers, Mahomet remains in hell; He cannot hear the voice of Tamburlaine. Seek out another godhead to adore - The God that sits in heaven, if any god, For he is God alone, and none but he.

C. Comparing Tamburlaine to Barack

In Obama's presidency we see the same incipient megalomania and crazy impulse towards destructive leadership as in Tamburlaine, with one curious twist. Instead of turning his back on the Koran, Barack has honored Islam wherever possible, while metaphorically burning the Bible, instead, shaking his fist in the Christian God's face. Further, he ostentatiously opposes public policy based upon a common-sense understanding of Western biblical principles. For instance, one observes quite readily doctrines which are historically considered anti-American are regularly employed in Islamic nations. For example, the Ba'ath Party used by Saddam Husein in Iraq is nationalist, pan-Arab socialist theory. In fact, socialism itself is the standard economic system employed across the Middle East. Marxist communist theories have also been well-received there. In concert, the only economics Barack seems to have any feel for is big-government, high-tax models which exemplify statism. To the contrary, American legal theory is based upon British Common Law doctrines. Primary principles were established by the Founders upon Natural Law, itself derived in great part from the Bible, as well as common sense. William of Ockham defines Natural Law as "In conformity with a natural reason that never fails," claims Brian Tierney's The Idea of Natural Rights; Studies on Natural Rights, Natural Law, and Church Law 1150 1625. Ockham gives two examples from the Decalogue (Ten Commandments): "Thou Shalt Not Commit Adultery," and "Thou Shalt Not Lie." Tierney states, "This law was immutable and invariable and not subject to dispensation." Ockham cites Gratian, saying the Natural Law "...began with the origin of the rational creature." According to Tierney it is "immutable and exemplified in the moral precepts of Scripture." James R Stoner, in Common Law Liberty, Rethinking American Constitutionalism indicates Natural Law at some point became coextensive with Britain's Common Law, indicating a shared foundations with such extraordinarily influential later developments as the Bill of Rights.

Conclusion

Ponder what kind of a country America would be if Barack treated Christianity the same as he does Islam; US citizens the way he does Islamic foreigners; or capitalism in the same manner as socialism? Or what if he treated the American Constitution with the same respect he does he Koran or Das Kapital? What a wonderful world it would be.
