International Grassroots campaign

Canada not one of Obama’s ’57’ states

Rufus Gifford at .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address) wants to remind Canada Free Press (CFP) that “we’ve asked you for a donation a few times now”. And it’s true that through its incessant emails, the Obama campaign has been putting the bite on CFP for money.
“I’m not writing to ask you for money again. I’m actually writing to ask your opinion about why you haven’t given, and what you think would inspire you or other Obama supporters like you to decide to take the leap and donate,” Gifford wrote in an email to CFP dated Feb. 26. The email comes with a lecture: “There’s a good reason we’re asking for your feedback: The kind of organization we all decided to be a part of only works if people like you pitch in to build it.” This unsolicited request with lecture is followed by braggadocio: “It’s also the reason no other candidate has been able to match our level of grassroots support. This isn’t the easiest way to run a campaign--but we know it’s the right way.”

CFP got onto the Obama campaign donor’s list because Senator ‘don’t-call-me-Ma’am- call-me-Senator” Barbara Boxer once sent us a donation request, in jest or her own brand of sarcasm. Boxer was only aware of this news site because of its many articles portraying man-made global warming as a hoax. Bureaucracy being what it is, Boxer then stupidly missed a Canadian outlet being on the donation list when her staff passed its name along to Democrat colleagues. As Global Warming/aka Climate Change pooh-bah Al Gore’s number one senator cheerleader, Barbara Boxer, you would think, would know all about pollution. CFP has been polluted with hundreds of requests asking for “just $3” from the Obama campaign. The only good news about Obama campaign email pollution is that CFP cannot be the only outlet on the contribution email list by error. That means at least some of the emails to the “grassroots” are being sent out into a vacuum. In the latest email, Gifford includes a parenthesized rider: (“If our records are wrong, I apologize and thank you!)” Not only are Rufus’ records wrong--they’ve been wrong for almost three and a half years, but that’s bureaucracy for you! The answer to his questions: “Why you haven’t given?” and “What you think would inspire you or other Obama supporters like you to decide to take the leap and donate?” should be obvious from the first word in this ‘Friend’s’ email addy. The first word in the CFP email is ‘Canada’. Meanwhile, Rufus, you just can’t trust Barbara Boxer about anything.

But according to our records, you haven't yet made an online donation to this campaign at this email address. (If our records are wrong, I apologize and thank you!) I'm not writing to ask you for money again. I'm actually writing to ask your opinion about why you haven't given, and what you think would inspire you or other Obama supporters like you to decide to take the leap and donate. We have two quick questions for you. Can you take a minute to answer them? There's a good reason we're asking for your feedback: The kind of organization we all decided to be a part of only works if people like you pitch in to build it. It's also the reason no other candidate has been able to match our level of grassroots support. This isn't the easiest way to run a campaign -- but we know it's the right way. That's why we want to know what you're thinking. Please take a minute to answer these two Thanks so much, Rufus Rufus Gifford National Finance Director Obama for America P.S. -- Of course, if you'd like to become one of our million-plus grassroots donors today, by all means, please make a donation of $3 or whatever you can afford.
