Is the Obama administration using either leaks or black propaganda to sabotage Israel’s defence against the threat of genocide?- Melanie Phillips, Daily Mail Online
Evidently, reporters at the Daily Mail are not so caught up in the Trayvon ruckus that they're ignoring the Obama administration's most recent and most brazen efforts at sabotaging Israel's efforts to keep itself on the planet.
John Bolton, also seemingly immune from Trayvonmania, told Fox News that an article in Foreign Policy quoted government sources claiming that Israel had been granted access to airfields in Azerbaijan, a former Soviet puppet state.
A strike from Azerbaijan would be far easier for Israeli forces than having to launch from Israel and fly over Iraq which presents enormous tactical challenges. Azerbaijan would enable jets to stay over their targets longer and not have to worry about refueling as well as keeping a low profile. The air bases are a mere 350 miles from Tehran.
But, the best part was the element of surprise. Iran has, up till now, expected Israel to strike from the south. Now, thanks to the Obama administration, which is hell bent on preventing Israel from committing acts of self defense, Iran can move to protect itself.
Bolton made it clear that this was an "orchestrated leak", not some CIA agent gone rogue. Phillips points out that the Foreign Policy piece was written by Mark Perry, a former unofficial Yasser Arafat adviser and well established Israel basher. Not unlike Obama's good friends, Jeremiah Wright, Bill Ayers, Bernadine Dohrn, Rashid Khalidi; too many to mention. My apologies to any anti Semitic friends of Obama I may have omitted.
The magazine article quoted "four senior diplomats and military intelligence officers." Not exactly the kid in the mail room.
Phillips sums it up:
As Dan Margalit asks in the Israeli paper Israel Hayom: ‘What reasonable interest does someone in the Pentagon have in hardening the Iranian pharaoh’s heart on the eve of Passover, and indicating to him that he has nothing to fear? This borders on insanity.’
Sabotaging an ally’s defences in this manner goes much further than Obama’s previous known position in trying to stop an Israeli attack on Iran. This actively assists Iran, and thus potentially places the lives of millions at risk from that regime’s deranged belligerency. Is this what Obama meant when he tried to reassure American Jews recently that ‘...when the chips are down, I have Israel’s back’?
