It's another "gosh, I wish I'd said that" moment, but credit goes to Mark Steyn for pointing out that Team O keeps lighting exploding cigars for itself. The always unflinching Toby Harnden found the remnants of the latest cigar bomb by talking to former and currently serving Navy SEALS who are livid at our naked emperor for using Special Forces as 'ammunition' for his re-election campaign.
Obama's narcissism aside, what were they thinking, using Bill Clinton of all people, in their ad about Obama's Profile in Courage? This would be the same Bill Clinton who refused to take bin Laden from the Sudanese government not once, but three times.
In any case, our magnificent SEALS were never too thrilled with Obama's incessant yammering over Team Six about whom we're not even supposed to know. They're beyond fed up with his never ending crowing about the spectacular job he did of taking out bin Laden, who was by then a pathetic old pervert watching porn all day having long been neutralized by George W. Bush.
Obama allowed the SEALS to act because to fail to do so was political suicide. He took his sweet time about it. Eventually it would have leaked that we knew where bin Laden was and Obama did nothing, which would have been the end of his re-election pipe dreams.
The actual operational planning and execution were done by the SEALS under the leadership of Admiral William McRaven. Obama wanted no part in any tactical decisions.
Team O's obnoxious ad suggests that Mitt Romney would have never had the courage to make the same call, which is, of course absurd. Displaying a puckish sense of humor we too seldom get to see from Romney, his response was: Even Jimmy Carter would have given that order.
Obama has yet to give credit to his predecessor who put the special ops and intelligence resources in place that enabled the operation to happen at all. He was all too willing to flap his cake hole about our super secret SEAL Team Six and the "treasure trove" of intelligence that was classified.
And now when he thinks it suits his political purposes, he suddenly plays make believe about being the most courageous president EVER for making the biggest no brainer decision of any president's career.
Everybody hates this ad. Not just normal people hate it, Arianna Huffington hates it. The SEALS hate it. The voters are going to hate it. Only a nitwit like Obama could Swiftboat himself.
