The omnipotent Obama campaign continues to set eerie precedents. Filling every nook, cranny and crack of the lifestyle of the masses, there’s no escaping ‘The One’.
Controlling practically all of the mainstream media, with some even sending their stories for approval to the White House, breaking new ground in social media outlets, now it’s the debut of Dashboard. “We recently launched Dashboard--the campaign’s new online platform that brings together supporters like you to organize for President Obama,” Marion Marshall, Deputy National Field Director, Obama for America sent in an email to all today. They’re still reeling in shock and pain in Aurora, Colorado, with the heartbreak of funerals to come, but Obama, after one day’s campaign suspension, is back at it with Dashboard.

“Even though Dashboard just got off the ground, it’s growing fast,” Marshall writes. “A lot of folks have already joined, and they’re using it to connect with other volunteers and drive the organizing efforts where they live.” In Marshall’s explanation, “The idea of Dashboard is pretty simple: You log on, and you can do something right then and there to grow this campaign. That might be making a few calls to voters, signing up for the next volunteer event in your area, organizing a house party, or getting the latest campaign updates and joining an online discussion about them. “It’s where you can stay in touch with your neighborhood team and with groups of folks who care about the same issues as you--to collaborate, brainstorm, and work together to bring others into this campaign and get them fired up to vote.” In layman’s description, Dashboard is the whole Obama campaign team getting to knock on your Internet door in their undies. Why work up a sweat by getting out on the streets when you can campaign from Mommy’s basement? Let’s hope the legions of Obamabots tormenting conservative bloggers and website operators sign up in droves for Dashboard. Like the panicking Dems, Marshall readily admits “we’ve got a few tough months ahead of us, and they’re going to go fast. We’ve got to make the most of that time--and Dashboard is going to be key to helping us do that.” The more the Dems panic, the more they hide it out, plan to be AWOL from the Dem convention and pretend they are not in contact with Obama. The more the campaign poohbahs panic, the more invasions of private life. The panic stems from dwindling polls but in their fairytale world, Democrats can always point the finger of blame. Virginia State Senator Louise Lucas blames Obama’s dwindling poll numbers on “racism and vacations”. Obama may be chafing at the bit to complete his Fundamental Transformation of America, but just like those selfish brides and grooms who refused to hand over their wedding gifts, shockingly there are some Dems who still take their families on vacations! Meanwhile, to the unwashed masses, dashboard is still that thingy you see while driving your car.

Even though Dashboard just got off the ground, it's growing fast. A lot of folks have already joined, and they're using it to connect with other volunteers and drive the organizing efforts where they live. Join today to get involved from the start. The idea of Dashboard is pretty simple: You log on, and you can do something right then and there to grow this campaign. That might be making a few calls to voters, signing up for the next volunteer event in your area, organizing a house party, or getting the latest campaign updates and joining an online discussion about them. It's where you can stay in touch with your neighborhood team and with groups of folks who care about the same issues as you -- to collaborate, brainstorm, and work together to bring others into this campaign and get them fired up to vote. It's kind of like checking in at your local field office, but you can do it from anywhere at any time, and get started on something right away. We've got a few tough months ahead of us, and they're going to go fast. We've got to make the most of that time -- and Dashboard is going to be key to helping us do that. Dashboard will bring in more people and help make the most of every minute we have left to organize. It's one of the most powerful tools in our arsenal -- so you really should be a part of it, right from the start. It only takes a minute to join -- so get started with Dashboard now: I know the other supporters who have already jumped in will be glad to have you join them. Thanks, Marlon Marlon Marshall Deputy National Field Director Obama for America
