A State Separated From God?

A false notion of Separation of Church and State seems to be lending itself to Washington bureaucrats who are hampering American patriots in their efforts to uphold the Constitutional precepts of life and religious liberty. In one sense, there exists no separation of Church and State, nor is the phrase found anywhere in the Constitution, yet progressives seem to have defined it as a dogma.
Where it states in the First Amendment that "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof," this was done precisely to prevent the state from becoming another "Church of England" that would lord it over the people and prevent the "free exercise" of Christianity. Translated into our time, it means that government may never impose a one-world religion where the people are forced to bow to the environment, salute the banner of sin, reverence the feminazi, and yield up their hard earned money to internationalists that are hacking away at the Constitution and setting up their empire of death. Needless to say, Separation of Church and State was all about guaranteeing our religious liberty to publicly testify to the truth, but irrational and irreligious men have twisted the Establishment Clause of the First Amendment to mean that the state should never act in the name of God or show respect for his universal rule of law, which of course is absurd. Thereby these confederates have misled many into thinking that Christian morality is not a state issue, that it should be separated from the state, and that the Church accordingly should keep its nose out of the state's business.

So that we understand, Separation of Church and State never meant that the state was to be separated from God, quite obviously, since we were set up as a Christian Nation under God where the precepts of Christianity must have bearing upon all its legislative and judicial decisions. The Supreme Court in 1892 declared the United States "A Christian Nation" in which "Our laws and our institutions must necessarily be based upon and embody the teachings of the Redeemer of mankind." Separation of Church and State was enacted to protect the Church, not the state, and to keep the state out of the Church's business so that religious freedom could flourish throughout our land without interference from the state. It is not a "mind-your-business clause" as some think, where the Church and state each go in their own separate direction, but rather, it recognizes the Church's preeminence over the state and its right to publicly oppose decisions of the state that do not live up to Christian standards, though it doesn't get into the particulars of legislation at the federal level, granted. But even so, the Church in a general way has that prerogative to censure state decisions that violate the Biblical precepts upon which this Nation Under God was founded. This is not only the Church's right, it is its duty! The sterling example of Pius XI in condemning the tyranny of Hitler during WW II is exactly what Church leaders of America should be doing today with respect to the neo-Hitler among us. It is quite conceivable to think that Obama already has more skulls in his closet than Hitler. This may seem exaggerated if we're getting our figures from Planned Parenthood, but the fact remains that millions of helpless children are murdered each year in the womb, especially with the aid of the abortive pill. We are truly witnessing today The Great American Holocaust. The Church leaders of America with one voice should unscrupulously condemn Obama and everything he stands for, but by seeing Separation of Church and State as a mind-your-business clause, it tends to neuter the Church in its defense of traditional family values (though much good is being done) rather than bolstering its conviction that the state must be subject to God's rule of law. It's a question of putting the horse before the buggy, and the state has to remember that it was founded on the Church, and not vice-versa. IT IS TRUE THAT part of Separation of Church and State is its neutrality with respect to denomination, where the state does not recommend any particular denomination for its people. Let's be frank: had Washington and Jefferson started pushing Catholicism or any denomination as the law of the land, it just wouldn't work since there was a diversity of denominations adhered to in colonial times. But what the founding fathers did do was to establish a strong common-denominator for the nation to follow, namely, Christian principle, the Ten Commandments, respect for God and love of neighbor, Thou Shalt Not Steal, Thou Shalt Not Kill (thy baby), etc. Herein Christianity was established as the basic law of the land around which all of our law enforcement was to be enacted. This basic foundation in turn gave rise to the Catholic Church in America that has now grown to a membership of 77 million strong. Note that we never saw Washington and the founding fathers hindering the growth of the Catholic Church in this country or preventing its "free exercise thereof." They didn't persecute the Church as our present leaders do, U.S. bishops included (USCCB). It should also be pointed out that "Church" in the vision of the founding fathers wasn't limited to attendance at a church building on Sunday morning, but it included the open witness of our Christian convictions in the public arena 24/7. The Constitution empowers "the people" to go out as onward Christian soldiers and to foster a sense of allegiance to God and country, to promote public prayer in schools, yea, to promote life! This God-given right to life constitutes the very kernel of our Declaration of Independence, and around this fundamental premise was the Constitution formed. The Constitution in its every clause and amendment is subservient to upholding, first and foremost, this unalienable right to life that every human has been endowed with by its Creator, so that those who advocate abortion are undermining the very essence of the Constitution. The fact that the enemies of the Constitution might use the Constitution to enact their own injustice (Wade vs. Roe) doesn't make it binding as law, since "unjust laws do not bind" (St. Thomas Aquinas). In order for a ruling to be Constitutional, it must be rooted in Biblical principle in keeping with the Supreme Court decision of 1892. The Bible says, "Woe to them that make wicked laws" (Isaias 10:1), which means that if the unjust enact wicked laws, it is the duty of the Church to stand up and refute these laws before the nation, even if it means discrediting their advocates by name and warning the people not to vote for them under the pain of sin. This solemn right of the Church to publicly witness for the Faith is precisely what is guaranteed by Separation of Church and State. Let all patriots and religious leaders exercise it to the full. 'Tis the season!
