2012 Democratic Platform pushes taxpayer-funded abortion

According to the Democratic Party's 2012 Platform, Democrats are now self-avowed promoters of the radical pro-abortion movement that has officially endorsed taxpayer-funded abortion, pro-life organizations noted on Wednesday.
Democrats “strongly and unequivocally support Roe v. Wade regardless of ability to pay,” according to a plank on the DNC platform. While the 2004 Democratic Platform stipulated that abortion should be “safe, legal, and rare," the “progressive wing" of the Party replaced that language with "taxpayer-funded abortion" language, which would make abortions free and frequent. During the run up to the passage of so-called Obamacare, the Democrats assured Americans that the new healthcare law would not pay for abortions, which helped in garnering the votes of pro-life "Blue Dog" Democrats. Now Americans -- including a CNN poll's 52 percent of Americans who oppose abortion -- are being told that Obamacare does cover abortion.

President Barack Obama, has a long, consistent history of advancing abortion. During the early days of his career in the Illinois legislature, Barack Obama refused to support parental notification and a ban on late-term abortions. He even refused to vote for legislation requiring medical treatment for babies who survive an abortion and are born alive, according to Liberty Counsel Action, a nonprofit, grassroots lobbying organization. In his brief time serving in the U.S. Senate, Barack Obama voted to provide taxpayer funding to organizations that provide and promote abortions overseas, supported taxpayer-funded embryonic stem cell research, and voted against legislation to prevent the transportation of minor girls by non-relatives across state lines for an abortion, according to Liberty officials. In addition, Obama's first executive order after his inauguration as President of the United States repealed the Mexico City Policy, thereby restoring U.S. funding to organizations that perform and promote abortion overseas. Another Obama executive order repealed the conscience clause protection for health professionals, forcing doctors and nurses to participate in procedures that violate their values. Despite promises to legislators and an executive order to the contrary, Obama’s Department of Health and Human Services approved taxpayer-funded abortion in ObamaCare. “President Obama and the administration that he has gathered comprise the most radical, ideologically-driven administration in American history,” said Matt Staver, Chairman of Liberty Counsel Action. “His pro-abortion and pro-homosexual rights ideology trumps everything, even the economy. Of all the myriad of issues that the president and his administration could be working on to bring more jobs and better our economy, they have spent the last three years pushing their very radical, anti-life, and anti-liberty agenda,” Staver said. “It is part and parcel of what they believe and who they are. If reelected, we can expect in-your-face forced abortion funding and an aggressive deconstruction of moral principles,” he added. "The original Democratic Platform basically said screw God, screw the Israeli Jews, but you [American taxpayers] are going to pay to kill unborn babies. And if Obama had his way any baby who survived an abortion would also be terminated," said Charles "Chuck" Grobowski, a former police officer and private investigator.
