"Suspicious" fire at a Brampton Coptic Orthodox Church early this morning

Jewish Community Concerned Over Targeting of Coptic Church

B’nai Brith Canada is expressing concern following a fire at a Brampton Coptic Orthodox Church early this morning that is being treated by police as “suspicious”. Earlier this year a Catholic Church in a nearby area was targeted as well.

Frank Dimant, CEO of B’nai Brith Canada issued the following statement: “There is concern that this fire may be a sign that rising tensions around the world are beginning to affect Canada. We would like to join together with the Coptic community in condemning this act and hope that the perpetrators are brought to justice. “
