Four more years of anti-American hysteria fueled by envy and revenge, or a new and refreshing view of America as a “Shining City on a Hill?”

America’s Future: “Shining City on Hill” or Bankrupt Welfare State Dominated by Envy and Revenge?



After four long, awful years in which America has been ridiculed, diminished, and shamed by a sitting President, even while on foreign soil, the day of reckoning has finally arrived, and We the people will finally be allowed to speak.
In recent days, President Obama has tried to rally support by urging voters to cast ballots in order to exact “revenge.” Republican Mitt Romney, on the other hand, has pleaded with Americans to vote based on Love of Nation. Revenge versus love. That pretty well sums up the Obama versus Romney attitude toward governance, our Democratic republic, and American history and culture.

Mitt Romney echoes the vision of President Ronald Reagan who said the following in his 1984 acceptance of the Republican Party nomination and in his January 11, 1989, farewell speech to the nation:
“I've spoken of the shining city all my political life, but I don't know if I ever quite communicated what I saw when I said it. But in my mind it was a tall proud city built on rocks stronger than oceans, wind-swept, God-blessed, and teeming with people of all kinds living in harmony and peace, a city with free ports that hummed with commerce and creativity, and if there had to be city walls, the walls had doors and the doors were open to anyone with the will and the heart to get here. That's how I saw it.”
Which will it be, America? Four more years of anti-American hysteria fueled by envy and revenge, or a new and refreshing view of America as a “Shining City on a Hill?” It’s up to We the People!
