Israeli leaflets have been dropped warning the Palestinians to stay clear of Hamas and other terrorist organization’s activities

Five days into Operation Pillar Defense and its current outcomes

On the 14th of November, Israel launched Operation Pillar Defense. Initiated as an air campaign, Israel is now staging ground forces on the Gaza border. Hamas has been crippled but fighting continues.
Since the beginning of Israeli military operations on November 14th, Hamas, the lead terrorist group behind Israeli atrocities, has launched approximately 1,054 rocket attacks. Thankfully Israel’s ground to air defense system known as Iron Dome has intercepted many of these attacks limiting casualties. Hamas has utilized public settings to stage the majority of their attacks.

Just recently, on the 16th of November, Hamas utilized the Gaza Stadium to launch two long-range rockets aimed at Tel Aviv and Jerusalem—no casualties have been reported from these incidents. But casualties have been noted. In Israel, a total of three civilians have been killed. At least seven IDF soldiers and 128 civilians have been wounded. According to Israeli intelligence reports, approximately 104 Palestinians have been killed and 700 have been injured. Israel is doing its best to marginalize the amount of civilian casualties however that has been an incredibly difficult task. Hamas has utilized civilian shields in the past and they continue to utilize civilian shields today. Israeli leaflets have been dropped warning the Palestinians to stay clear of Hamas and other terrorist organization’s activities. “For your own safety, take responsibility for yourselves and avoid being present in the vicinity of Hamas operatives and facilities and those of other terrorist organizations that pose a risk to your safety.” Today, November 19th, one rocket destroyed a school in Ashkelon while two rockets struck in the vicinity of Eilat. No casualties have been reported from these incidents. Five days of Operation Pillar Defense has ensued and it appears the fighting will not stop anytime soon. But will foreign fighters come to the Palestinian’s aid? It is critical to note that Hamas is the Muslim Brotherhood’s militant arm. Egypt has elected a Muslim Brotherhood government. It will be interesting to observe how much Egypt or any other recently transitioned nation inside the Middle East forming a Muslim Brotherhood dominated government will come to the Palestinian’s rescue.
