Prayers from senators and congress at Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast

Prophecy can predict the responses to this column now: “Christians are supposed to pray for everybody--even President Barack Hussein Obama” as he drags America into the gutter of socialism.

But “The Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast Committee” guest lineup will make some want to pray for them. “On Monday, January 21st, Inauguration Day ordinary Americans will gather with Pastors, Clergy, Lay Leaders, Congressmen, Senators, Ambassadors and Diplomats to pray for the Nation and the Office of the Presidency,” (Christian Newswire, Jan. 11, 2013). We don’t know how the Committee terms “ordinary Americans”, but we do know not to take too seriously the prayers of Congressmen and Senators who are going along to get along with the Fundamental Transformation of America. Here is the list of the heavies who will be in attendance when The Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast Committee meets at the Washington Marriott Wardman Park Hotel, where there is a “suggested donation of $50 per guest or $500 per table of ten guests for the formal breakfast”:

No one can guess whether Obama will be a no-show at the Presidential Inaugural Prayer Breakfast, but it is now known that he will do another double swearing in at Inauguration. In 2009, he flubbed the oath of office when being sworn in by Chief Justice John Roberts and had to retake the oath--in private--the following day. Obama is taking the oath of office for his second term with his hand placed not on a single Bible, but two, one owned by Martin Luther King Jr. and one by Abraham Lincoln. While the “Pastors, Clergy, Lay Leaders, Congressmen, Senators, Ambassadors and Diplomats” pray for the Nation and the Office of the Presidency on Monday, Jan. 21, all those undistinguished with the above titles, or just ordinary Americans, should be sending up a prayer of their own: “Deliver US (read U.S) from Obama!”
