Aside from the concept of posse comitatus, Obama is no doubt aware of the questionaires the military has done periodically, which always show that very few in any branch would fire on their fellow citizens. When they give it to US Army Special Forces, the result has always been the same—that the SF troops would assume the people were right and would go off to join the civilian leadership.
My prediction is that the Democrats will enact their 25% military cut and SF will be a big target. After all, we don’t need SF since terrorism is a criminal matter, right? And those SF guys will be just where the country needs them if it comes to that.
