Playtime sandbox into a litter box.
The Litter Box

I’m a relative neophyte concerning Caucuses and Primaries relating to Presidential Campaigns. Part horse, part camel the mode of transportation seems to be a matter of relative comfort in the ride more than it’s getting to the final destination.
Chad Rogers, publisher of the Dead Pelican, is being castigated and pilloried and his name dragged through the streets as the pitch is heated and the geese plucked.
How’s that for hyperbole?
In reality he’s being criticized for passing out a campaign flier during the Republican Party Caucus. For this heinous (?) act, as it was published with information he sought to explain in his own way, he is now being vilified. The result is Ron Paul ascended to a dominant position in this one particular exercise in futility.
It’s appears an exercise in futility to me because Romney has a “presumptive lead” in all delegate counts. As such it seems to place Ron Paul in a position somewhat less than competitive. But as is true in all political escapades “presumptive” ain’t necessarily so. Having had two heart attacks I can tell you they can hit anybody and the entire process can be thrown out of the window. Hearts have a finite number of beats to their constitution, breaths come in specifically numbered lots and God gets his way no matter what; so Romney’s got no room to feel plucky and/or the possessor of a sure thing.
But the subject of this little mind-dud I feel compelled to comment on is the manner and form of criticism offered. It’s more a playground pithing (sic) match than a debate. The least articulate people scream their debate points while searching for whatever crap they can find to throw at each other. They’ve turned a playtime sandbox into a litter box.
As I read the commentary offered in The Hayride I saw there were 154 recorded comments on this subject; impressive. But of the available comments viewed (I counted 87) twelve (12) were logged by one person and answered nine (9) times by another.
I must compliment the participants of this socially inept exchange for pointing out politics is a blood sport more savage than any held in the coliseum. While the participants desperately try looking like gladiators valiantly defending their points of contention they come off reminiscent of the guy following the elephants with a broom. Socially sensitive objections were made to being called; “UnAmerican, UnConservative, Libertarian Retards!” This in turn was answered with less articulate denials until it all degenerated into the aforementioned litter slingin’ approximating: “I know I am but what are you!” (Stick out tongue and give a “Bronx Cheer”.)
It’s hard to think there has ever been a more worthless exchange of childish pap as was shown here. But, wait. There was a time when one of the participants in this infantile display was in full regalia trading barbs with other of equally challenged oratorical skills and maturity. (Imagine; the male in that exchange took a more mature stance and stayed out of this one. Wow!) Both of those participants were called out on the subject. One of them declared politics would take a backseat to the demands of newly developed employment. Now one of the “usual suspects” is combative once more. So much for stepping away from irreconcilable controversy.
The prime movers in this latest exchange have insulted, impugned, denigrated and offended each other as much as is possible for two people consumed by their tantrums. One can imagine the hissing and the spit flying.
But worse, they’ve showcased the lack of cohesiveness in the Conservative political movement. They’ve descended to the depths people like Beaurat Obama want this movement to appear as inhabiting. NO issues were discussed; just personal assaults against each other. Where the Primary battles and blood-letting created ammunition for the liberals to attack ANY candidate on that level; these two showed Conservatives at the grass roots level to be uncultured, inarticulate, fractious, internally contentious and too fragmented to pose a threat or offer an intelligent argument against unrestrained progressive liberalism.
Thank you. Conservatism has no need for enemies with friends such as you.
