MISSISSAUGA, ON,  - Subaru Canada, Inc. (SCI) is pleased to report a new sales record for the month of June as 2,576 units were sold this month, up 3.7 percent over the same month last year. Year-to-date sales have also been on the rise with results up 3.7 percent over the same period in 2011.

It was also a record June for the 2012 Subaru Impreza with sales up 21.6 percent. With seven months of consecutive sales records, the 2012 Impreza is also up an incredible 50.1 percent year to date as Canadians purchased this fun-to-drive compact car in record numbers.

Strong monthly sales can also partially be attributed to the scorching introduction of Subaru’s brand new rear-wheel-drive sports coupe. The 2013 Subaru BRZ had a tremendous first month of sales as it sold 185 percent over its projected expectations for June.

“We are experiencing amazing growth,” said Shiro Ohta, president and CEO of Subaru Canada, Inc. “Subaru’s sales future is very strong and we are well on our way to making 2012 our best one yet. We have a strong dealer network that deserves tremendous credit, but we also listen to our customers and offer the right product with the right marketing. Collectively, I’m pleased this winning combination is paying off favourably for us.”
