TORONTO, - Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) started the year off with a record-setting 10,660 sales in January.

Total Toyota sales: 9,565 (up 17.2%)
- Toyota car sales: 4,965 (up 13.4%)
- Yaris Hatch sales: 476 (up 188.5%)
- Prius/Prius v sales: 263 (up 176.8%)
- Camry/Camry Hybrid sales: 1,007 (up 168.5%), leads intermediate sedan segment for third month in a row
- Avalon sales: 39 (up 116.7%)
- Toyota truck sales: 4,600 (up 21.6%)
- RAV4 sales: 1,428 (up 34.5%)
- Venza sales: 791 (up 33.2%)
- Tacoma sales: 512 (up 22.8%)
- Sienna sales: 693 (up 18.7%)

Scion’s sportiest model receives a somewhat sportier upgrade for 2012. It’s called the Scion tC “High Voltage” RS 7.0, as in “release series” 7.0, which makes it sound like a software upgrade but which is actually some tweaking to the hardware on the little coupe.

TORONTO, - Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) today reported sales of 12,167 Toyota, Lexus and Scion cars, trucks and SUVs in July, 2011. TCI experienced rebounding sales in July which coincided with the ramp-up of North American built production. Although a decrease of 18.2% from July 2010, TCI July 2011 sales exceeded both May and June of this year. The company recorded a 6.1% month over month increase from June to July, against an estimated 14.2% decline in the total Canadian market over that same period.

TORONTO, - North American vehicle production levels are expected to return to 100 percent in September, Toyota said today. Production is recovering earlier than originally anticipated following the March 11 earthquake and tsunami in Japan.
On average, current production has improved to more than 80 percent through August. Eight of the company’s 12 North American-built models returned to 100 percent production on June 6.

Toyota Canada Inc. (TCI) today reported sales of 9,480 Toyota, Lexus and Scion cars, trucks and SUVs in February 2011, down 25.3% from a year earlier. Toyota Canada continued to see model line sales increases, including the second best February ever for Lexus. Large vehicles and SUVs continued to perform well, with best-ever February results for the Canadian-built Toyota RAV4 and Lexus RX 350, all positive signs as the industry enters what is traditionally its most important selling season of the year.
