Individual liberty means freedom ‘to’, not freedom ‘from’
By Jerry Philipson Sunday, May 6, 2012
Liberty in America means that Americans possess certain inalienable rights. These include the right to speak freely, the right to express themselves freely, the right to subscribe or not subscribe to religion in general or a given religion in particular, the right to assemble, the right to move, the right to accept or reject whatever orthodoxies and ideologies which are thrust upon them, the right to live their lives as they see fit, the right to be governed by democratically elected representatives of the people and so on…in short, the right to life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. The key word in this is ‘to’... Americans are free to make their own decisions and live according to their conscience and principles. That is what liberty in the United States means. It is the freedom to do or not do something, anything, the freedom to make choices and act them out.
Taxing the SunlightBy Joseph Harris Thursday, May 3, 2012
An ever growing government must by necessity grow in expanding its revenue (called taxing to the uninformed) and therefore can be very creative in methods for taxing and names for said taxes. Since the phrase “cut spending” is not found in any dictionary or book owned by politicians, the only recourse is to increase revenue. Government makes Robin Hood look like an amateur. Frederic Bastiat was correct when he called taxation legalized plunder.
The Forwardism DiseaseBy Daniel Greenfield Wednesday, May 2, 2012
The Obama slogan for 2012 is in and it’s “Forward”, which is a compact version of that old classic, “Don’t change horses in the middle of a stream” that every incumbent is forced to run on sooner or later. Forward implies that there’s no alternative but to go backward, which is a place that no right-thinking person wants to go.
The left has always been enamored of “Forwardism” or “Progressivism” which mean much the same thing. Before MSNBC had Lean Forward, Mao had the Great Leap Forward which killed some 40 million people, far more people than MSNBC can ever dream of tuning in to their programs.
When Lenin wanted to launch his own newspaper, he called it, “Vperod” or Forward. The name still lingers on among the left and appears on the mastheads of newspapers across the world. It’s Vorwarts in Germany, Voorwarts in the Netherlands and Ila al-Amam in the Arab world. Back in New York it’s The Forward, the venerable blotting paper of the Jewish left.
Big Brother, the Internet, and Your Right of PrivacyBy Alan Caruba Monday, April 30, 2012
Most Americans assume that they have a right of privacy guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution and, while several of the Bill of Rights imply this right, it is not specifically expressed.
However, it is understood. In a Supreme Court case, Meyer v Nebraska, 1923, Justice McReynolds perhaps said it best:
“While this court has not attempted to define with exactness the liberty thus guaranteed, the term has received much consideration and some of the included things have been definitely stated. Without doubt, it denotes not merely freedom from bodily restraint but also the right of the individual to contract, to engage in any of the common occupations of life, to acquire useful knowledge, to marry, establish a home and bring up children, to worship God according to the dictates of his own conscience, and generally to enjoy those privileges long recognized at common law as essential to the orderly pursuit of happiness by free men.”
Squeezing the Family Farm
By Timothy Birdnow Sunday, April 29, 2012
Recently the Obama Administration floated (and subsequently scrapped) a proposal to severely limit the types of labor that farm children could be asked to perform by their parents. These restrictions unleashed a flurry of criticisms from farm groups and conservatives, who complained that farm chores were a traditional part of American agriculture and that this imposed burden on the family farmer was unfair.
Agenda 21’s role in America’s financial breakdownBy Henry Lamb Sunday, April 29, 2012
For more than 20 years, now, the most powerful word in advertising has been “sustainable.” This term sells everything from toilet paper to spark plugs. This same term is even more powerful when applied to public policies such as: “sustainable” energy; transportation; agriculture; development; housing, and almost every other policy considered by government. When the term “sustainable” is used to sell a product, the product will be more expensive and less efficient than it has to be. When the term “sustainable” is used to sell a public policy, the policy will not only be more expensive and less efficient, it will be controlled by the government, and it will ultimately fail.
Hi patriots, from day one: Tea Party Express VI National Bus TourBy Lloyd Marcus Sunday, April 29, 2012

One-World Governance Policies begin in New Rochelle, NY
By Sher Zieve Monday, April 23, 2012
The revolutionary and Luciferian (he dedicated his book “Rules for Radicals” to Lucifer…aka Satan) Saul Alinsky said ““True revolutionaries do not flaunt their radicalism, Alinsky taught. They cut their hair, put on suits and infiltrate the system from within.” Alinsky also taught that community organizing (aka ‘teaching radicalism and Satanic concepts’) must begin at the local level and in a forceful manner. Karl Marx, his partner Frederich Engels and Vladimir Lenin wrote and believed the same. Adolph Hitler, along with Marx and the rest, also believed that environmental elements and ‘saving the planet’ were excellent ploys to be brought into every speech and were needed in order to shame and bully a population into submission. It worked—and still works—remarkably well.
Obama’s Yard Sale: Selling Out AmericaBy Michael Oberndorf, RPA Sunday, April 22, 2012
From the very beginning of Obama-Soetoro’s illegal occupancy of the once-revered and respected office of President of the United States of America, he and his unindicted co-conspirators have been feverishly working to “fundamentally change” America. As expected by those who paid attention and actually read Mein Kamph…er…Dreams From My Father and the facts known about Obama-Soetoro’s philosophical background, the changes have all been aimed at turning America into a Soviet-style dictatorship. And as we get closer to the 2012 elections, the pace of selling out America is increasing significantly.
The Stealer of SoulsBy Timothy Birdnow Sunday, April 22, 2012
What is government? We speak endlessly about government, yet fail to give any real thought as to what exactly we are discussing, and so our arguments often flounder about with no real sense of what it is that government is or what it should do. Through most of human history Man has accepted government as a divinity, a substitute for God, and even some conservatives - and even libertarians - often fall into the trap of seeing government as an entity to impose will. A review is in order.
The audacity of ignoranceBy Henry Lamb Sunday, April 22, 2012
When Obama was elected President, he thought “foreign policy” meant strategies to organize the Chicago suburbs of Oak Park and Glen Ellyn. Now, well into his fourth year as President, he has added Iran and Syria to the list of “suburbs” he thinks can be organized by sitting down with their leaders and explaining what he wants them to do.
