Obamacare is Imploding
By Alan Caruba Sunday, April 14, 2013
Obamacare—the Affordable Care Act—is both imploding from its own dead weight and conversely exploding in the face of the Democratic Party as we head toward the 2014 midterm elections. You remember the Democrats? They were the ones who, on Christmas Eve 2009 passed Obamacare in the late hours. It’s the bill Nancy Pelosi told us had to be passed “so we can find out what’s in it.”
The Unaffordable “Affordable Care Act”By Roger Aronoff Friday, March 29, 2013
The apparent costs of Obamacare are going up. And up, and up. How much additional cost will the average private payer see in the coming year? The Society of Actuaries, according to The Wall Street Journal, has issued a new report “warning that the cost of medical claims in the new individual-insurance market could rise by an average of 32% per person over the first few years the law is in place” with changes “very different depending on the state” (emphasis added). The Associated Press describes the study as a “political headache” for the Obama Administration rather than a headache for the average American.
Sebelius admits ObamaCare will jack up insurance premiumsBy Dan Calabrese Thursday, March 28, 2013
So how is it that you can pass a law mandating expanded benefits, including free preventive care, and mandating coverage for those with pre-existing conditions . . . all without raising insurance premiums?
When Affordable Health Care DiedBy Arnold Ahlert Thursday, March 28, 2013
On Tuesday, Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius was forced to concede that some people who will be buying health insurance for themselves next fall will face higher premium costs due to provisions in the healthcare bill. A new study released the same day reveals that insurance companies themselves will be paying out an average of 32 percent more for medical claims. Both stories join the growing list of indicators that point toward a grim reality: when it is fully implemented, the Affordable Healthcare Act of 2010 will be anything but.
Why Not Tax the Lean to Cover the Sins of the Obese?
By John Lillpop Wednesday, March 27, 2013
Progressive tax policies, besides being immoral and discriminatory, are illogical, and mostly involve punishing the well-to-do for doing so damn well.
Indeed, soaking the rich is based on the faulty premise that, since the successful have more, it is the responsibility of the government(s) to level the playing field by seizing wealth from the well-off and giving said booty to the “less fortunate.”
Speakin’ OutBy Guest Column Tuesday, March 26, 2013
We are dealing with the consequences of what I believe is the greatest criminal act in American history. While it is clear who some of those most responsible for it are, it will take generations to unravel the tangle of perpetrators, willing accomplices, and didn’t-have-a-clues who were involved.

“Our doctors have told us to be prepared for the worst because right now we can hardly find a doctor.”
Three Years On: Here’s Why Obamacare Has Become IrresistibleBy Austin Hill Monday, March 25, 2013
It has been federal law for three years. It has brought chaos to the labor markets. It has cost people their livelihoods and it is more unpopular than ever.
Medical device tax: Democrats pass a repeal, but it’s not yet for real
By Herman Cain Sunday, March 24, 2013
Just when you think there’s no point in advocating for better policies in this nation, something happens that reminds you the will of the people can win out – if the people have the right information and advocate for the right things.
AP: Darn it, Republican state lawmakers refuse to force people into ObamaCare exchangesBy Dan Calabrese Friday, March 22, 2013
At first glance, given the headline “Obama health law anniversary finds 2 Americas,” you might think John Edwards has been hired to write for the AP. And really, what would be the difference between him and Ricardo Alonso-Zaldivar? The latter has been pimping for, er, “covering” news related to ObamaCare since the legislative debate over the law. He has always taken a dim view of arguments that the law is not everything its advocates claim it is.
Thanks to Obamacare…By Heritage Foundation Friday, March 22, 2013
It’s Obamacare’s third anniversary. Though many key parts of Obamacare—including some of its tax hikes and mandates—don’t go into effect until next year, Americans are feeling many of its changes already.
ObamaCare truth: Why the left is attacking the Five Guys guyBy Herman Cain Monday, March 18, 2013
Liberals usually deny that their actions will have a negative effect on the business community and job creation. This denial is essential to their continued viability. If they admitted the truth – that they have contempt for job creators and figure they get what they deserve when big government rears its prosperity-killing head – they would have a pretty hard time shoving their agenda down the nation’s collective throat.
