I was doing two things at the same time. Posted by Isabella on 06/21 at 02:08 PM | # Isabella I assure you that I agonize for those dynamics--the ones you listed. They are near unbearable. This is not about Palin...it's about something much larger--a nation, and a hope. Which was larger in her mind...the good of the nation, or herself, her family, and her wealth, her future, her friendship, and her conscience even? Never forget, she chose that, over the good of ALL families there in, all children therein, all futures therein, and in many ways, the future of many others in our world. She chose to sacrifice all that, for her own interests. Can you now trust her now to send men to their deaths and families to grieve at their graves "for the good of the nation"? Would it be for the nation, or for herself or her friends? And, incidentally, I have not heard her recant that decision, which she could at any time, and be fully forgiven. Posted by Sapient on 06/21 at 12:58 PM | # Linda, I understand your frustation. What is breaking my heart is, that high power organizations, inside and out, asume the power, to choose, actually designet, the president for our country, letting us, to believe, We the people, are electing our president. They did before and seems they are going to do next year. How ca we stand-up, against them. Can anybody have a solution? Posted by Isabella on 06/21 at 12:49 PM | # You know Sapient, I always strongly believed that,if you are a Republican, you have to be one, in your heart, not in the paper. When is about, right and wrong, I will stay with the RIGHT, and not with the party. I know, you ( and I) and so many others, where disappointed about Sara Palin, supporting McCain. I tried to put myself in her shoe. I think, and that is the reality, McCain help her to be ,where she is today. Wealthy, no more second hand clothes, and financial security for her and her family. I think, she tried to do what her conscience told her to do. This is just my opinion. With or without her " help", McCain, would keep his set in the Senate. Posted by Isabella on 06/21 at 12:16 PM | # Lynda Truly my hat is off to you more than I can tell you. Here is some general advice from one qualified to give it: "Sure I am of this, that you have only to endure to conquer. You have only to persevere to save yourselves." “Never give in - never, never, never, never, in nothing great or small, large or petty, never give in except to convictions of honor and good sense. Never yield to force; never yield to the apparently overwhelming might of the enemy.” “It is no use saying, 'We are doing our best.' You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary.” “One ought never to turn one's back on a threatened danger and try to run away from it. If you do that, you will double the danger. But if you meet it promptly and without flinching, you will reduce the danger by half. Never run away from anything. Never!” "You ask, What is our aim? I can answer with one word: Victory—victory at all costs, victory in spite of all terror, victory however long and hard the road may be; for without victory there is no survival." Sir Winston Churchill Posted by Sapient on 06/21 at 12:10 PM | # @ Sapient Oh! I do so agree with you!! “We” can find good candidates. The problem comes from those who make the decisions behind the scenes. “We” had a most excellent candidate in 2008. I gave everything I had for his candidacy…time, money, energy... became a delegate for my district and state. Heck, I even filed charges with the FEC. It was all for naught, as the choice for “our” nominee had already been made before anyone went to the polls to vote. You are correct in that it IS OUR responsibility and OUR JOB to influence in any way, and every way, we can. However, one or two in each state doing their civic duty gets us absolutely no where. Where is the outrage from the masses? Where are the millions converging on DC demanding OUR rights and OUR Constitution be followed? There were 2 million like-minded folks on the streets of DC on September 12, 2009 as a peaceful protest of the actions that were taking place in DC. Those 2 million folks then went home and allowed blow-hards like O’Reilly to consistently say we only had 60,000 and otherwise make light of our accomplishment. Those same 2 million still watch O’Reilly and speak only about how clean we left the grounds. TRASH, or lack thereof, became the focal point of that great moment in history! A bit more than 3 months later Obamacare was shoved down our collective throats with nary a whimper. Frankly, I’m out of ideas as to what I can do and can find no group with which to associate with in my area. I’ve tried to start my own conservative activist group, but no one seems interested if they have to leave their couch. The local GOP will not allow me to help in any way as my family has a long and notorious history of being conservative republicans in this area. What can I do? Name it and I’m there. Posted by Lynda on 06/21 at 11:56 AM | # Lynda "If the GOP really wanted to win the White House they would be arranging a West / Palin 2012 landslide." Sure could, and there are others too. Whose party is the GOP? Who decides what the ticket is? That is OUR Party...It belongs to us and a pox on those who insist it belongs to them. They lie and I am here calling them on it. Listen...the Polish Revolution began in their minds when they realized "There are more of us than there are of them!!!!" Lynda, there are more of us than there are of them!! Defy them! Dare them to tell you "No we will do bend to the will of the people and obey their mandate in the Constitution." Actually, some have, to YOUR FACE. No business owner would stand for that from their hired help. No business owner would stand for dishonesty, embezzlement, corruption from their employee. NEVER! Will you stand for that, or brand them the ROGUES they are? THIS is the real Revolution Lynda...in OUR minds; a change of heart, sense of duty, obligations, values. Do that and it's all done, except for a few details (grin)...but it MUST start there--and it can be that easy. THIS IS OUR LAND....We the People ordained that Constitution. Its power flows from US and no where else. God speed "A constitution is not the act of a government, but of a people constituting a government; and government without a constitution is power without a right. All power exercised over a nation, must have some beginning. It must be either delegated, or assumed. There are not other sources. All delegated power is trust, and all assumed power is usurpation. Time does not alter the nature and quality of either." ~Thomas Paine, America’s Godfather. According to Warner and every other member of the US Congress, al-Awlaki is a natural-born American citizen and he is fully eligible to serve as President of our country
