CommentsMitt's non electability is due to his personality, and nothing else. Furthermore, he cannot do anything about at this stage of his life. It doesn't mean he is a bad person or that he is not qualified. The operative buzz words to describe personality are charisma, charm, warmth, compassion, likability, friendliness twinkle in the eye, etc. GOP candidates and potential candidates having that quality are Perry, Huntsman, Cain, Rubio, Christie. Having it to a lesser degree are Paul, Santorum, Bachmann, Gingrich. I heard Mitch Daniels last night. Very competent but a personality as bad as Romney's. I hope he doesn't win a brokered convention. But how ecstatic can anyone be about a candidate whose main draw is electability. Electability is an excellent strategic calculation, but it garners about as much enthusiasm as any other form of expediency. Most people who vote the big ‘R’ recognize the importance of getting Obama out at any cost, but they are not going to get very fired up about a man whose only credential is that of being able to win.
