The following should have been added to the column as a final paragraph:
“The United States is like sleeping with an elephant: You are conscious of its every move.” This then is the nature of the beast; while it is huge, we should never begin to think that our government is devoid of good, honest and patriotic people who are loyal to what America stands for.

An old axiom that came to me by my father should be what they need to follow: Never do anything that you cannot brag about.
I am a Department of Defense retiree of 31 years of Federal Service or, if you will, Civil Service plus active military service to the country. First of all, let me say that I was not in an administrative position and that I served in truly service organizations (Army Depots and technical service activities) but that I still had some contact with GSA as regards contracts.More...
