CommentsHell yes there is a double standard in this country. I have been a cop for 26 years, and I believe I have pushed my luck as far as it will go, so I will probably not be trying for 27. Since the Rodney king incident, I had decided that should I ever get into a life a death fight over my gun with a black suspect, the headlines would read officer shot with own weapon. Because there is no way it would be saying white cop kills unarmed black man.There is no way to win in that situation, you just look for the best outcome you can. I had 3 young children at the time. Being sent to prison or fed. Prison, leaves me no way to support my wife and children, yet he kills me, my wife gets good insurance money, my kids are able to go to a state college for free, so I die knowing my family will be taken care of. Now I know people out there might think that's crazy, well it's no different than when people make statements like I'd take a bullet for my kids, that's what I would be doing. When you have so called republican like judge Jeanine, believing that the only way you can legally shot a black male he must have a gun too. If he has a knife, sword, lead pipe, metal baseball bat, he is still considered unarmed. She prosecuted an off duty officer when she was a DA, because he shot and killed a black male who was beating the off duty cop's dad with an aluminum bat. She's also one of the first one to call for zimmermans head on a platter, on the night it happened, and the story came in with very little details. We have little checkboxes on top of the offense reports which Says check if hate crime. Well if a black person commits a crime against a white person you cannot check it unless he tells his victim something like I'm committing this crime against you because you are white. However, if a white person commits a crime against a black, you are to automatically check it even if no words or exchanged. A black guy saw a white guy breaking into his car, yelled at him and started to chase him till he jumped in a car and took off. After taking the report, I was ordered by a supervisor that night to mark hate crime because the owner was black, and the suspect was white, and it didn't matter if anything was said or not. So good luck, my fellow Americans, I'm outta here when I retire, where Ebonics is not spoken. Plus, look up major cities...(maybe the state); and the statistics are there for crimes and it is divided by race. In fact they have video labs that help local law enforcement solve crimes. Your police department is going to do nothing if it is a Black person. It called political correctness. They will not go after a protected class unless they are forced to. Down in Mobile, AL, the police said the terrible beating of White man by Blacks was not race related. Even though people heard the Blacks say it was for Trayvon. The White guy was just trying to protect the Black kids play in the street from being hit by a car. I had the misfortune of going to my local Wal-Mart Friday and had my car vandalized by what appeared to be 6 - 8 thugs. (Did not get an up close look at them and were trying to figure out how many as they scattered) The police were called and they wrote a report, gave me a case number and told me to contact my insurance company. No plans for investigation, nothing since Wal-Mart does not save their security tapes they have no way of identifying these individuals. BTW, my car was one of three "high-end" (according to police) vehicles damaged by these individuals that day. They will not investigate this because it was black on white crime. Had it been reversed, it would have been front page news all over Alabama. It is just too easy to pass this off as “black anger.” It is racism, and the Zimmerman-Martin killing is just the tip of the iceberg The media and the usual race-mongers made sure that all of America knew about George Zimmerman’s killing of Trayvon Martin in Sanford, Florida, on February 26. The local police initially did not arrest Zimmerman because it was an obvious case of self-defense.
