CommentsWhile I hardly ever disagree with you, Alan, but I do now. While we have been busy around the globe fighting wars that are not our own, we have paid little notice to the fact that our nation is broke!
The Middle East, except for Israel, seems to be filled with lunatic psychopaths who are willing to send there own children, if they deem necessary, to bomb people they don't like, which includes us. All the while claiming that Allah will reward them for it.
We are facing a possible economic collapse that will make the Great Depression look like a kindergarten play. We have a President who wants windmills and solar panels for which he will spend billions, all the while our debt continues to leapfrog into outer space.
There is no way out for $16 trillion in debt and rescuing other nations is not in any way affordable. Pray tell, who will rescue our own citizens?
I am, however, not in favor of our own military being cut. It's plain that Al Queda et.al. is still out there just waiting for the U.S. to become asleep at the wheel and strike they will.
Should Israel be attacked by a Jihadist foresee that they cannot handle on their own, then all bets are off and we help.

Personally, I think it's time that the rest of the world handled their own problems and quit depending on the U.S. as the world's policeman, including trillions that we're supposed to enslave our own people with, to pay for it. We should just defend the United States and our ships on the high seas, and let other nations pay their own way and do the same. If they won't lift a finger to defend themselves and pay their own way, why should American tax slaves have to?
