An excellent article, Kelly! It all needed to be said.
Today's mainstream media has moved far from the days when two investigative reporters first decided to look into the Watergate scandal.
One of the frustrating parts of the attack on Gingrich and his extramarital affair this week is that the president has a history of his own extramarital affairs that the mainstream media knows about but is forbidden to report.
For the last year, various groups like Tea Party and ObamaBallotChallenge.com have recognized that Obama is not eligible to be president because he was not born of 2 U.S. citizen parents. Yet, the mainstream media has reported nothing about it until this week when a Georgia judge ordered Obama to appear in court on 1-26-12 with proof that he is eligible. Little has ever been reported by the MSM about his forged Certificate of Live Birth and the fraudulent Social Security number he uses either.
The MSM also does not report concern about the unconstitutional acts of Obama, such as his use of military force in Libya last March without asking permission of our Congress.
Your suggestion to police renegade journalists by putting the claims of public figures and journalists through an analytic sieve and trumpeting it everywhere possible is a good one.
Let's do it.

Great article.. Thank you.
"Undemocratic & hypocritical"... well Duhh... Of course they are.
The American MSM is no longer any sort of honest, unbiased 'news' source. They are radical, wacko-leftists who try to destroy anybody or any belief that stands in the way of big Gov't secular-socialism. They attack Tebow for praying! Their problem is that most thinking Americans no longer trust them at all. Only their small core group of lunatics can stand watching them on TV. Chris Matthews and Ed Schultz are the poster-children of the far left lunes. They are Anti-american and anti-self reliance. They despise the founding father's ideas of free market without gov't interference. It was good to see 'Newt' tear into them. All they could do was whine and whimper and make excuses when they were confronted with strength and conviction.

Mr O'Connell, this letter is fit for the congressional archives and fit for advice to the nation. Bravo!
I have one question. When you say "national menu" are you referring to any professional recognition issued for studies, instruction, pursuit or pandering for support for any of these "failed ideologies"?
To comply with the first amendment the position on these ideologies, well proven to end in public suffering of such magnitude that due process can never make whole the loss nor prosecute the criminality inherent in their advancement , can only be that those who pursue them can not teach in public schools, hold titles of nobility including Honorable, Esquire, Phd, Doctor or hold public offices or appointments of any magnitude including dog catcher. As Joseph Story pointed out, while you are free to speak your mind you must also suffer the public temerity, laws against libel and responsibility for any harm directly resulting from them. In defining "pursue them"; meaning to be so well versed in the policies and practices that one regards them as viable political, social or economic courses of debate or practice.

@FiddlerBob, The Eligibility Issue is a moot point now. Everyone around Obama knew/knows he is NOT eligible and did nothing.
Personally? Since we all KNOW, I think Newt is doing the right thing in a more proactive form towards the future.

Kelly, I used to watch Fox News all the time. I went to high school with one of the commentators and trusted him...UNTIL I started becoming acutely aware -- they don't report NEWS -- they report "AT" the news without getting into the meat of anything!
Early on, there was an article about Obama (BC info, background, etc.) so I emailed it to him. I received this reply:
"Sorry, Elaine, we can't report that; and I can't receive anything political in my email box".
I felt rather stupid after Obama got in and could not for the life of me understand how he ever got into office knowing what we know now!
In my naivete' I believed the FBI and/or CIA did background checks on all of the Candidates (after all, how could the everyday citizen know their backgrounds? I Google'd the Question.
IT IS THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE MEDIA TO DO BACKGROUND CHECKS!
My face must have turned white. OMG, most people don't stay online all the time -- they work. That's why it is so important to have, for instance a group like the Tea Party; and/or each individual to research each and every candidate online -- report the Good, The Bad and The Ugly -- and make it viral.
Bottom line? We CANNOT trust the Media.

I've seen the "paid" bloggers. In error, I tried to "reason" with them. Of course, they came back in attack mode and didn't make a single "valid arguable" point.
They remind me of the paid bloggers on Yahoo Buzz only these people are much worse! Instead of offering "reasons" or statements their candidate had said during a debate -- they went on a personal rampage against the blogger instead.
P.S. My daughter had given me the url of where the ad was posted on Craigs List.

Media Attempt to Pick-Off All GOP Candidates, One-by-One is Undemocratic & Hypocritical

Notion Only Conservative Candidates Will be Held Morally Accountable is National Suicide
America is learning the perpetually painful lesson of a rampant Marxist media. Consider the three rings of the socialist travesty. Essential issues are boiled down by leftist “journalists” to infant pap. Meanwhile, answers to compelling problems are slanted in favor of big government solutions. Finally, Conservatives are then perpetually pilloried for daring to hold and express irreversible convictions. This perilous scenario was no more patently on display than in the Jan. 19th SC Presidential debate. Fraudulent statist minion John “Bille Jean” King made the egregious error of pretending a political debate was best begun by demanding a candidate answer a question on “open marriage.” After receiving both barrels in repeated broadsides from a livid New Gingrich, the anti-media beat-down received a standing ovation.More...
