@wharr001 - Except everything in this article is true. If you look up the teacher on the UC Davis website you will find he does teach Marxist Theory. There are several videos that do show the protesters surrounding the police and demanding they release their arrestees before they will be allowed to leave. One protester has even gone record to admit that.

This article is HILARIOUS! When I first glanced at it, I thought it was a serious defense of the police action at UC Davis. Then, when I read that "it was a virtual last resort by the police to restore law and order on campus," I realized that this article is just brilliant satire. Especially effective is the video: when the police officer brandishes his pepper spray bottle, the caption reads, "This is the first we have seen of the pepper spray so far," and then, "They [the students] seem prepared for the pepper spray." Perfect! One couldn't capture the paranoia of reactionaries better than that!
The weird mention of the English professor who teaches "Marxist theory" is just a perfect rendition of reactionary paranoia! Well done! The article is a bit too long, but I totally get your point: even in a situation as obvious as this one, there are still CRAZIES out there who will defend the evil actions of police officers and try to vilify people trying to defend their right to free speech and assembly. Thanks for the warning!

The sensationalized anti-police manner in which the UC Davis confrontation has been portrayed by the media
UC Davis Republicans have released a new video showing what actually transpired on the campus before some protesters were pepper-sprayed. The almost nine-minute video shows that the UC Davis campus police were encircled by the demonstrators, who tell the police to free some of their arrested comrades. “If you let them go,” the protesters say, “we will let you leave.” Later, the protesters can be heard chanting, “F— the police.”More...
