We can only afford social programs with a healthy economy
Generous government

There IS a basic philosophical difference between the Democratic and Republican platforms. It is perhaps the most divided platform we’ve seen in our lifetime. The Democrats are focusing on social issues and the Republicans are focused on the economy. Guess what, boys and girls, if the economy crumbles, the social programs crash with it. We can only afford social programs with a healthy economy. The Republicans get that.
In addition, and perhaps far worse, is the eventual catastrophic results of the healthcare bill and the looming hyper inflation from borrowing and printing.
Emotions are high but now is the time for cool heads. If we believe in giving a hand up to the less fortunate, then we need to have the money to do that. Those who promote the giving side of the government better be considering how to pay the bill.
