Let’s clean up our House

September 22, 2012, we can all breathe a sigh of relief when Congress recesses until the week after the election. I’m certain the recess was not planned for our benefit but designed so some Senators and Representatives can complete their campaigns. We wouldn’t want to interfere with the important business of reelection by insisting on attention to such things as unemployment, foreign policy, inflation and gas prices.

But, the selfish motives actually help the people because instead of babysitting Congress and watching them 24/7 for slights of hand and devious laws, we, too, can concentrate on our important work – getting a bunch of them out of our lives and replacing them with people who vote as the people instruct.

So, I’m looking at the next 53 days as an opportunity to take care of business. It’s like when the kids go to Grandma’s, Mom can clean house without the children trashing it as she goes. Let’s clean up our House before the kids (Senators and Representatives) trash it any more.
