Sacramento, Calif. - For the second consecutive year, the nation’s largest grassroots pro-troop organization, Move America Forward, is raising money for US Troops overseas with a special “FANTASY SUPERBOWL” drive to send care packages to troops in need serving in Afghanistan. “The idea behind the the MAF Fantasy Superbowl is simple,” said Danny Gonzalez, Director of Communications for the group. “We give our members a choice between the two teams, this year it’s the Patriots and the Giants. Members can sponsor care packages for the troops on behalf of either team, and we track and see which team’s fans raise more.”
“So far we have seen more support come in from Giants fans, but there is still plenty of time for Patriots fans to rally between now and Sunday.” said Gonzalez. “Last year we did the same thing, pitting Packers and Steelers fans against each other and it was a massive success, we’re hoping to repeat that for Superbowl XLVI.”
The group plans to use the funds to send care packages to troops serving in Afghanistan from New York and Massachusetts, where the New York Giants and New England Patriots are play.
