Obama To Drop Public Option?

President Obama has burned his base several times in order to get elected, and his health care initiative is nothing without the “public option”. Just because he’s signaling a retreat because of growing national unease with the policy, doesn’t mean if he gets some of what he wants now, he might install this monstrosity later.

The Obama administration continued to back away from a government-run insurance option today, with Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius saying it is “not the essential element” of healthcare overhaul.

She, and other White House surrogates on the Sunday talk shows, indicated that the public option is not indispensable. But finding a way to keep insurance affordable is.

So after months of bashing evil insurance companies, they now want to work with them. I don’t trust these people, and remember whom we’re dealing with.

The Obama Administration is full of a bunch of liberal elitists who believe they know what’s best for the rest of us. Taking the pressure off the legislators’ second half of the August recess could calm things down, just so they can vote for it at some later point.

These are the same people who’ve taken over businesses. Retaking control of the health care industry once they’re in the door would be easy.
