Apparently, the address listed was later determined to not have been Obama's mother's address. Under Hawaiian law, a family that wishes to register the birth of a baby born outside Hawaii can list a family residence in Hawaii as the birth address, even if the mother was living outside Hawaii when the baby was born. For the record, race has nothing to do with the issue. Obama is not a natural born citizen. Nor is John McCain, Arnold Schwarzenegger, or Bobby Jindal. A natural born citizen is one born on U.S. soil to two U.S.-citizen parents. The fact that politicians ignored the rule is beside the point. They also routinely ignore the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution, but it is still in the document. Read The Obama Timeline. Then call us names if you'd like. Many people posting comments here do not seem to understand history or the U.S. Constitution. The document refers to "citizens," "naturalized" citizens, and "natural born citizen." The term "natural born citizen" appears in the Constitution only once, in the requirement for the presidency. The drafters used three terms intentionally. (They also often used the term "person," which could apply to non-citizens as well as citizens. Their wording was precise and intentional.) All natural born citizens are citizens, but not all citizens are natural born citizens... just as all trees are plants but not all plants are trees. A pregnant Mexican can sneak across the border to have her child born in an Arizona hospital, but that only makes him an American citizen; it does NOT make him a natural born citizen. (And his mother is a shameless criminal, of course.) Arnold Schwarzenegger was born in Austria and became a naturalized citizen of the United States. He cannot be president. Louisiana Governor Bobby Jindal was born on U.S. soil, but both his parents were here on student visas and were Indian citizens. Jindal CANNOT serve as president because he is NOT a natural born citizen. (The fact that his parents later became naturalized citizens is irrelevant; they were not U.S. citizens at the time of his birth. Case closed. Sorry, Jindal fans.) A natural born citizen is an individual born on U.S. soil to two U.S.-citizen parents. Period. Obama's father was not a U.S. citizen, so Obama is NOT a natural born citizen. Period. The fact that some people don't like that does not change the meaning of the Constitution or the intent of the Founding Fathers, who wanted to avoid having a president with mixed loyalties (as we certainly got with Obama).
